“Perfect place to stay in Chiang Mai!”
Reviewed 30 August 2013

We took the Tara vitality package which is so worth the money. The price of THB6900 covers a deluxe room for 2 nights, round trip airport transfer, breakfast, spa for 2 persons and THB300 for food at its restaurant. Location might not be so ideal but we've got our own local tour and there's free shuttle bus to the night market provided by the hotel, thus it's not a big issue. In fact, we are quite upset with the swimming pool as it looks quite shabby but when think about the fact that we are not here for a good swim, we feel better and tend to ignore it. Overall, it's a good place and we are more than happy to stay here again.

We stayed 4 nights at the Aruntara hotel.
It is very nice, pleasant and clean. The rooms are great. The service is wonderful.
It is not centrally located but it s a 10 minutes with Tuktuk from the night market which was a lot of fun.
Breafast is nice but not a great variety.
The swimming pool was fun to spend some relaxing time after traveling around all day
Great value for money

I stayed here for 3 nights in mid August 2013. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms clean, comfortable and very spacious. It is set a little away from the old city, which has it's pros and cons. Pros - quiet, and away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and other tourists. Free bicycles are provided, which I took advantage of.
Cons - fewer options for food etc within walking distance.

Chiang Mai is a small city and is easy to get around in tuk-tuks / taxis.

Above all, I recommend this hotel for the superb service I received. Front desk and bell hop greeted me warmly and very helpful.

The hotel sells a good selection of Karmakamet's products as well.

Liked the look of this hotel and wanted to try a Boutique hotel in Chiang Mai.
After much searching decided to book direct with the hotel to try the Tara Vitality Package - a good deal for two nights stay, return transfers to and from the airport, breakfast,a two hour massage at the hotel spa and THB 300 to be used at the restaurant for food or drinks...plus we paid to have a late check-out at 7 pm as our return flight was close to midnight.
I agree with some of the other reviewers - the customer service offered at this hotel especially by the hotel front desk manager (Miss B) is exceptional. From my initial internet booking to all questions and issues while at the hotel...she handled everything so efficiently and professionally.
The hotel is small . The design is modern and the rooms are comfortable. The rainforest shower is good.
It is a little way from the centre of town (about 80 baht by tuk-tuk) but the staff will flag these down very quickly. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to the night market area at 7 pm every evening.

The location on the banks of the river Ping is very nice..but you will only be able to appreciate this view from your room if you are in one of the suites. The other rooms face each other and look down into a central courtyard. The hotel is very quiet due to this...but you are easily overlooked by the rooms opposite. There is a small pool located in the corner of the property which is adequate if you wish to take a quick dip.

The spa is quite small..but the service provided was good. Be sure to double-check what you are going to get though before starting your treatment. We were supposed to get an aromatherapy oil massage as part of the package but due to a misunderstanding this portion was left out!

The only disappointment was the breakfast. There is an egg station for you to order dishes fresh..but other than that the breakfast is nothing to write home about.
Having said that we ate at the restaurant in the evening and the food quality was much better.I recommend the pineapple fried rice and the deep fried chicken wrapped in seaweed. The fruit smoothies were also very nice.

The Tara Vitality Package is good value for money and well worth a try - all things considered.

Room Tip: Try a suite if you want to look out onto the Ping River.

This hotel, located next to the river, is really beautiful. A very minimalist design (maybe not the right word), very sober, which gives a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.
Rooms are nice and spacious and the staff is exceptionally friendly and very helpful!

It is rather far from the center of Chiang Mai, but it is not a problem because it is in a quiet and nice area.
There is always a “tuk tuk” waiting outside the hotel. It takes 100 baths to move the center of Chiang Mai.

Lunch does not offer a big variety of products but is quite satisfactory. The omelets are very good and waffles delicious!

Only downside, I personally found the beds a little hard.

Room Tip: don't expect river view

I Re-visited the Aruntara Riverside Boutique Hotel. I was here with my Family in February. Nothing much has changed - and that was a good thing. The same friendly and helpful staff. I would like to mention Noi in particular. She has been very precise and forthcoming in my communication before and during the stay.
WIFI Works and the hotel is very quiet. Good for my trip.
I also had a late check out with very short notice but with no problems.
I can highly recommend the hotel and the friendly staff.

A new and boutique option to stay at Chiang Mai. Most of the hotels are older over there.
Charming, confy, friendly staff, nice rooms.
Very good brekafast, but no worth dinner.
Good location - 10 minutes walking to the night market - and the hotel offers a van to get to the market (but not the get back).
