Very nice boutique hotel located in the heart of chiang mai, service was very nice, room was very nice, seemed to be a little "used" but perfect overall, breakfast was average, very little variety, great shower head in the bathroom.

I have to be honest. The hotel is stylish (which I don't care), clean and comfortable. However they need a huge improvement when it comes to food. Breakfast with very little choices for westerners and lunch and dinner are not good. Portions are very small and again, no choices for western food.
The waiters and waitresses barely speak English.

Room is clean and comfortable. Staff is fine. Location OK. A few minutes to the Night Bazaar and vicinities. It's a good hotel for young people, but not for families or business travelers.

Although the location may be not be centrally located, they make up with their excellent service and by going the extra mile. When i missed the shuttle service to the shopping area, they are more than willing to activate another vehicle to ferry me and another guest. Besides the hotel staff, the masseurs at the spa were also excellent in their service and provided a high standard of Thai massage that's one of the best i've experienced so far in my frequent trips to Thailand.

The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. Breakfast variety is limited, but the quality is great. A tuktuk to the night market or central Chiang Mai is about 80 THB. The staff are extremely attentive and helpful - be it the security guy stopping cars if you want to want to cross the street, the waiters at the breakfast buffet, or the receptionist who might even open the hotel door for you, already holding your room key in her hand. The pool is part of a garden which extends towards the river, a great atmosphere to relax.

Room Tip: If you're keen on the river view, be sure you look at the Elephant Suite rooms. Other rooms don...

We took the Tara vitality package which is so worth the money. The price of THB6900 covers a deluxe room for 2 nights, round trip airport transfer, breakfast, spa for 2 persons and THB300 for food at its restaurant. Location might not be so ideal but we've got our own local tour and there's free shuttle bus to the night market provided by the hotel, thus it's not a big issue. In fact, we are quite upset with the swimming pool as it looks quite shabby but when think about the fact that we are not here for a good swim, we feel better and tend to ignore it. Overall, it's a good place and we are more than happy to stay here again.

We stayed 4 nights at the Aruntara hotel.
It is very nice, pleasant and clean. The rooms are great. The service is wonderful.
It is not centrally located but it s a 10 minutes with Tuktuk from the night market which was a lot of fun.
Breafast is nice but not a great variety.
The swimming pool was fun to spend some relaxing time after traveling around all day
Great value for money

I stayed here for 3 nights in mid August 2013. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms clean, comfortable and very spacious. It is set a little away from the old city, which has it's pros and cons. Pros - quiet, and away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and other tourists. Free bicycles are provided, which I took advantage of.
Cons - fewer options for food etc within walking distance.

Chiang Mai is a small city and is easy to get around in tuk-tuks / taxis.

Above all, I recommend this hotel for the superb service I received. Front desk and bell hop greeted me warmly and very helpful.

The hotel sells a good selection of Karmakamet's products as well.
