This is a must do activity in Chiang Mai. The guide Superboy was great, funny and had great English. As Elephant Land is based in a national park you are simply following the elephant along their daily routine in their natural habitat. The owners of the elephants are very close to the elephants and it is easy to see the elephants are happy and well treated. They are not in chains or used for riding. Instead they spend the day eating naturally in the national park, enjoying a mud bath and then washing off in an amazing waterfall. All of which you can follow, observe and interact with. It has been an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone!!!

This was the most incredible tour we’ve done on our trip away! We were the only guest to stay over night but our guide, who likes to be known as Superboy, was still so attentive. We made dinner, ate with the locals and played uno in the evening. The camp has little electric so we were given a head light to use the toilets after dark but this didn’t worry us at all as the area was secluded and safe. The elephants were beautiful and well looked after. Staying for the evening gave us the special chance to have one on one time with the elephants and feed them their breakfast before the rest of the days guests arrived. I couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough!

Book this trip if you are up for an adventure!

The 2 hour drive is rough the last 15 minutes when entering the national park and there is no more paved road. But just trust the driver and enjoy the ride.

The guides are very friendly and enthousiast, you spend a lot of time very close to the elephants and can watch them in their natural environment.

They serve an enjoyable lunch and provide enough snacks and water.

Do you wear your swimming gear to enjoy the bathing and waterfall, it's probably the coolest part.

First be prepared for a long trek if you are staying in the old city, takes about two hours once the company picks you up from your hotel, a few bumpy roads up to the national park but it is definitely worth the trip!
Super Boy was our guide, he was fantastic and full of energy and excitement which made the adventure even more fun.
The elephants at the camp roam the national park and come to the camp when they want to, treated very well and each elephant has its own caretaker that knows its likes/dislikes ect.
LOVE that they give you clothes to wear as you would destroy some outfits trekking through muds/woods. As Super Boy explained the outfits are also to help the elephants as they feel like they see the same people everyday vs new tourists everyday wearing different colors.
The jungle trek was great and following the elephants in their natural habitat was amazing to see! Watch out the elephants throw mud!
My favorite part was the waterfall, the staff have everyone climb up behind the water of the falls and the elephants come into the waterfall to bathe right in front of you! Amazing experience!
They have about 6 elephants now but are supposed to have more elephants coming to the park in the next coming year.

This is a completely cruelty free and natural habitat for the elephants (which should be on the top of your list for choosing a place). The elephants roam free and seem very happy- even dealing with all us tourists. Super boy (the guide lol) makes the day really fun, he’s really sweet and clearly cares a lot for the animals. What’s great about this one is that you get to get muddy with the elephants and wash yourself under a fab waterfall (with the elephants). Enjoyed the day out.
