Description: Arcobaleno, a beautiful word, means rainbow in Italian. This word has inspired us to create the slogan of our restaurant as “The Color of Taste”.The Color of Taste is representing to our variety of authentic Italian recipes that we serve through our warm, comfortable, and lovely atmosphere. We are proudly using our original recipes even though we have moved from an original location, Babelon, located in front of Chiang Mai University. An antique wooden house in the large garden was transformed into Arcobaleno, the lovely Italian restaurant with plenty of parking spaces. This place is decorated with the inspiration of clean, comfortable, and relaxed impression that you will perceive as very much feeling like eating at your lovely home. In addition, you will be able to enjoy your meal either inside the building or outside, surrounded with a peaceful garden. The yellow wall inside the restaurant has been decorated with the pictures of our big Chef Renato Magni, who is the head of this family own restaurant. He has invented his own Italian food recipes for more than thirty years together with his Italian cuisine experience in many countries around the world. The sample menu features a page of signature dishes; beef and salmon carpaccio, along with Riso pilaf primavera, Italian’ rice with fresh or Risotto Nero, Italian’ rice the squid ink. The second page is all kind of appetizer such as Crab meat Au Gartin, the most popular dish. Gambiri alla Salas di Creama, shrimo and mushroom combination in wine sauce, which is serve with smooth and creamy mashed potatoes. The mixed salad is only sixty baht, or we would recommend you to try our always delicious Capreses Salad, a tomato salad with parmesan cheese and olive oil served with homemade Italian dressing. The third page contains soup and vegetarian dishes, all kind of soup is only sixty baht, and we are also serving specialty menus for our vegetarian offerings. The Gnocchi mal fatti, gnocchi is mixed with spinach ricotta, parmesan, and mozzarella cheeses, is served with a choice of cream sauce or tomato/herb sauce. Our vegetarian pastas are priced at 130-160 baht. Our main meat dishes are included choices of chicken, duck, beef, veal, pork, fish, and frog. The grilled pork chops, served with a mushroom, wine sauce, and fresh steamed vegetables, is one of our specialties that you should not miss it.Our must-try homemade ice cream is served at thirty five baht per serving. We do have variety of choices you can choose such as Black Prune ice cream, Ginger with honey, and all kind of fruits ice cream, depended on the fruit season. Tiramisu cake, which is serve with a generous dollop of whipped cream. The secret of our deliciousness is the fresh seasoning and the use of our organic raw Italian materials such as tomato, basil, rosemary, and parsley. These materials are grown by us in our plentiful backyard. This explanation is why our food is very fresh, organic, and delicious as well as we are differentiated from others. If you love and think of Italian food, we always welcome you to Arcobaleno, “The Color of Taste”.Arcobaleno Italian Restaurant open daily at 11:00AM-2:00PM for lunch, and 5:30PM-10:00PM for dinner. “Great italian restaurant..!”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

We have been coming to this restaurant since they moved from their original premises on the other side of town. Always excellent service, delicious Italian food, and reasonable prices. Well worth the effort to visit it once, and I guarantee you will want to go back again..! Weekends are usually busy, so worth booking ahead of time.

“Decent Italian, not particularly noteworthy”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

One of my guide books recommended this restaurant, and as it was not far from my hotel I thought I'd give it a try (plus I was a bit tired of Asian food). I arrived just after 9pm on a weeknight, and the place was empty; it's a bit tough to know what the ambience would be like if it were packed, but it really had no ambience at all while empty -- and the decorations, such as they were, did not provide much atmosphere. We were very aware that the staff were anxious to get home, which didn't help matters. The food itself was fine -- but as a previous reviewer wrote, nothing special. I even struggle to remember what I ate -- it just wasn't memorable. The restaurant served its function of providing sustenance, close to our hotel, on a night when we didn't want to explore in terms of geography or cuisine; but in retrospect, I think we could have expected a little more from an Italian restaurant, even in Chiang Mai. I certainly don't understand why the guide book chose to recommend this establishment in particular.

“Cannot rate food”
Reviewed 11 March 2014 via mobile

The hours posted state that the reaustraunt is open 11 to 2 and then reopens at 5. My friends and I missed the hours the first day we went - no problem. Came back the second day at 1:25 only to be told that the kitchen is closed. I believe that if the kitchen is going to close earlier than the posted hours it should be posted as well. It was quite disappointing to walk up to the door an refused entry because the kitchen was closed.

“Wonderful authentic Italian!”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

This is our third year in a row in Chiang Mai and we look forward to our meals at ArcoBeleno. We had three meals here this visit and think it is some of the finest Italian anywhere in the world. We love the spinach and crab crepes as well as the eggplant parmigiana. Prices are great too. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for good food. Its in a beautiful setting off the beaten track. Very quiet area away from the hubbub.
