Great location. The room was amazing. Very modern, with traditional touches. Immaculately clean, with great additions like an iPod pre-loaded with songs next to the bed. Service was great, very friendly and attentive. You won't be sorry for checking in.

We have just departed from U Chiang Mai, a fantastic hotel with excellent staff and service. The rooms are well appointed, on check in you are offered a choice of soap which is a nice and different approach. Check in was swift and you are shown to your room with bags following a few minutes later.

The hotel is well located within the old city and only 10 minutes from the airport. We chose to walk most of the time to various restaurants but did use a tuk tuk to get back from the night bazaar as it was slightly further out of the old city towards the river.

All in all a great base for the 3 days we had in Chiang Mai, would definitely return.

My boyfriend and I have just left U Chiang Mai after staying for 3 nights and we have very fond memories. From start to finish the staff were so helpful and warm. After 15 hours of travelling and 3 flights we were greeted in Chiang Mai airport by a member if staff who was so welcoming, 600 baht for an airport transfer but you get a mini tour, cold face towels and water. Our room was absolutely beautiful, intact the whole hotel is. We had a Thai massage the first night which was amazing (350 baht each - special offer) you can get a massage cheaper in the city but this was the best we had. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the breakfast was great, I recommend the Eggs Benedict!! We also slept in (heavy night in Chiang Mai!! :)) and missed breakfast one morning but we rang up and ordered room service and they let us have it free still even though it was half 11 (breakfast is 6.30-10am) Also U Chiang Mai is in a great central location, close to bars, restaurants and temples - if you go left out the hotel there's a fantastic restaurant called Hot Chilli recommended by the hotel. We couldn't fault our stay at all!

Location: excellent, close to stunning temples, bars, restaurants and in the pulse of the city
Hotel: could not fault it. Very comfortable, very clean, friendly and helpful staff, all the necessary facilities such as pool, gym, restaurant and bar onsite and all in top notch condition. Must also say the quality of the food served there is superb.

My wife also had a 90 min spa treatment onsite which was incredible.

Highly recommended - thank you U-Chiang Mai for a very pleasant and memorable stay

My friend and I stayed at U Chiang Mai this past weekend and had a fantastic stay. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful and nice, the hotel itself was beautiful, and the location could not have been better. Breakfast is available all day long which was great. The Thai massages we got at the hotel spa were amazing and incredible well priced. Overall I was incredibly pleased with my experience at this hotel and will definitely be recommending it to all of my friends.

If you like to be in the centre of all the action, this hotel provides that experience!

Located roughly 15 minutes from the Chiang Mai airport by taxi, check in was smooth and most guests are already expected before arrival. Staff very friendly. You stay for what you pay for. ie Check in at 3pm, check out at 3pm.

The Sunday night street markets start from 4pm and stretches for longer than 1 KM run through this hotel. So, as soon as you step out, you'll be greeted with stalls and stalls of food, local products, clothing etc etc.

The deluxe room is spacious, filled with standard amenities and well furnished. They provide you with your own 'ipod' and speakers with a huge selection of songs during your stay. Complimentary bottle water available. Select you soap of choice during check-in. Wifi is complimentary, safe available, gym, TV, some rooms (ground floor) have attached swimming pools which is just outside your balcony. I had some difficulties looking for my key card slot at night when I returned to the room as there was no indicator and its very dark!

Wat Phra Singh (10 minutes walk) and Wat Chedi Luang (3 minutes walk) are close by. There is abundance of food nearby, local and foreign.

For the Saturday night market (Wua Lai road), its around 10 minutes by tuk-tuk (roughly 60-80 Batt). Remember to negotiate price before getting into one!

Breakfast selection may be limited since its a boutique hotel, but you can order you food of choice. Fruits, cereal is available.

Room Tip: Ground floor and you might have one with a pool attached!

First stay, and I must say that if I ever return to Chiang Mai, U will definitely be my first choice for hotel. Very friendly staff, excellent service (without being too intrusive) and very nice rooms, tasteful, elegant and very well kept. Nice surroundings, great hotel garden with a beautiful pool. Great, and I would recommend it to anyone.
