“It's value for money”

We could not ask for more as the air-conditioned room is clean and right in the city - it's value for money for the price you pay and bargaining and eating outlets are within walking distance. There is a tour organiser called "MEOW" who is helpful and gives good advice on tour arrangements. Her shop is at Thapae Rd - hotel entrance turn left just a short distance away. We should have made prior arrangement with her (E-Mail: meo0999@yahoo.co.th) in order to have more time for sight-seeing. Thank you to the review for recommending this tour organiser and we really enjoyed ourselves to the fullest!

I found this hotel a great value for the money. Clean rooms, free continental breakfast, hot showers, AC, free wifi, and friendly staff all make this a great place to stay. It is close to China Town (a great local market!) and a short distance to the Night Bazaar. I recommend it if you don't want to stay in the walled city.

I hated this hotel. I stayed for 8 miserable days there. You get what you pay for. Super cheap price. The only thing good was the location to the Ping River for Festival. I came down with a terrible cold, the A/C was blowing right on me. The room windows don't open, no fresh air. The decor was tacky light blue and gold. It smelt like a closed up dingy prison room. I had the largest room on the top floor and it was still awful! If you need an okay place to stay that is dirt cheap... this is the place. If you don't want to feel like an inmate, then check other places.

330 baht gets you a clean (although slight run down) air conditioned room, satellite TV with lots of channels, a fridge, and hotel-wide wifi. Also includes daily water, towels and soap. Most places in the moat that provide this type of service charge around the 500 baht range. I have paid in the mid 200s for non-airconditioned rooms with no private bathroom and no TV inside the moat, so this is definitely a good deal for the money. I travel to Chiang Mai often and I don't know of any places that offer a fridge at this low a rate.

The only minuses are the hotel's interior looks a little like a penitentary, and the location, while conveniently located to the main market and night bazaar, is not in the heavily touristed moat area (although the moat is about a 10 minute walk away).
