Truly a tour made for the foodie in is all! Whether a chef, a food lover, or just want to know more about the cuisine, culture, and history of Chiang Mai, this is a tour for you!

Moui has such an amazing personality and is extremely knowledgeable. While the tour has set spots to stop, she has the ability to change it to the liking of the group.

The tour took about four hours which was the perfect amount of time. I left extremely full and with enough food for dinner too!

Not our first time in Chiang Mai and this tour was one of the best we have been on. Our guide, Moui, was very informative and engaging with our small group. We felt like we were friends on a personal tour instead of being just a part of a big group doing same same every day. By the end of the evening we had so many different types of food, each with unique tastes and ethnic roots. The best parts were that we did NOT eat Pad Thai, and we did not stop where there were many tourists. Felt like a local, ate what the locals eat and where they eat it. Would recommend this tour.

Wow! I cannot recommend this tour more. It was such an amazing time walking through the local markets with Moui, who was full of information. She explained all the different foods, fruits, vegetables, herbs, and products. Thailand has such a vast amount of unique food products that it's really hard knowing what is what without someone helping you along the way. The northern Thai cuisine was delicious. Moui purchased such a variety and I was able to walk away with leftovers. I had a private tour of one and I loved that A Chef's Tour still ran with just one person! I was so full by the end of the tour and so happy to have tasted the local Thai food! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR

This tour is a great way to learn more about Thailand and it's cuisine. Our guide, Moui had great knowledge and we had a very informative tour of the market, where Moui purchased many items that she then incorporated into the meals we had in the restaurants. We even went home with leftovers because there was so much food. We only had a small group of 4 which made it very personal. I highly recommend this tour.

This was a fantastic tour. We ate and we ate and we ate and Moui still wanted to feed us more! Moui was a great guide and knows a lot about both the food scene and Chiang Mai in general. We highly recommend this tour.

This was an awesome and informative tour. Moui is fantastic and really knows her stuff! I only wish we had more time so we could have actually eaten all the things towards the end of the tour. We tried a lot of food and got a lot of great information!

This is was a wonderful experience -- and much better than some other food tours I've been on. By starting the tour at a food market to discuss unprepared vegetables and fruits, Moui does a wonderful job of providing much needed context to the foods we tried later on so that it isn't just pop in, eat, pop out. And there was a ton of good food -- lots of different dishes and lots of leftovers. Would highly recommend.

Hi 443barrett,

Amazing! So great to hear you enjoyed the experience. That's exactly the reason Moui takes her guests to the market first. It's a great way to introduce guests to Thai cuisine and the ingredients that are used in it. It's also one of our fav markets!

Have a great time on the rest of your Thai adventure!

All the best,

Luke

We really enjoyed the food tour we went on. We had Moui as our tour guide and she was amazing! Fully knowledgeable about the history of Chiang Mai and the various restaurants we went on. She often elaborated on why they chose certain food stalls and the stories behind each place and we really appreciated that. We visited the local market and learned a lot about the spices and herbs. It made the tour more than just good food...which there was a lot of. Also, major shoutout to Moui. She was so kind and generous with her time. Thanks again for the nice tour!

Moui was a brilliant host. Really warm and extremely knowledgeable on the surrounds, the food, the people of the region, the history of Thailand and, most importantly, the food regions of Thailand.
Can’t add much more than has been written in other reviews except to say the food is exquisite, exceedingly genuine and superb value for money.
Be warned: skip all meals that day! It’s a true gut buster!!
Very flexible tour and we felt we were being taken around Chiang Mai by a friend.

We had the best food ever, a chefs tour took us around local areas where local people eats. You won’t find any tourist around as it is out of the walls. We visited a market where we were told all the main ingredients of North Thailand food. At the market we tried all kind of delicacies like sausages, century eggs and if you are adventurous you can also have some deep fried insects. We are the food in a local restaurant run by Burmese people where we also had some typical Burmese salads.
To continue we went to Chinatown to have noodles, fruits and smoothies.
The last visit was ginger drink with silky tofu. We were so full we could finish all food. So be prepared and have a light lunch or no lunch at all.
We had a lot of explanations about what North Thai people ate in the old times.
By the way, I forgot about the first dish, actually the best. Super soft pork with rice in a very famous stall in Chiang Mai.
I recommended this tour 100%

Hi Alejandro,

Fantastic to hear that you felt that you had the best food ever. That's what we're aiming for here at A Chef's Tour, looking for those hidden spots that only locals know about. That pork dish from the Cowgirl is my favourite too!

I hope you had a great time on the rest of your Thai adventure!

All the best,

Luke
