“Good Location, Clean and Safe”
Reviewed 12 September 2011

We stayed here after arriving in Chiang Mai on a busy weekend- many guesthouses were already sold out. We found this place by chance, and were lucky for finding it. Baan Ramida has a nice garden/ courtyard entrance with a gate that is closed from the road at night. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the linens are crisp. The bathrooms are modern, with rain showers and constant hot water. Rooms are not serviced during your stay, but the staff is helpful as long as you are patient with translation. We would happily stay here again and would recommend this guesthouse to other travelers. The coffee shop associated with the hotel makes great coffee (they don't have food), however we found that their prices were quite a bit higher than other similar coffee stands in the area.

During the six nights in Chiang Mai, we changed three places. Baan Ramida is the priority choice for those who has budget but also appreciate comfort and convenience. It locates in the northern part of the Old City where lots of good & reasonable-priced massage shops and restaurants gather. We could easily taste local snacks, dessert, food & fruit from the catering booth just five-minute walk away from the guest house. The coffee in Baan Ramida's own coffee shop was recommended by my darling who is quite demanding. :-))
As to the room, it's clean & comfortable, not large, but cozy. The bed is quite good for us to recover from the fatigue from the whole day trekking. My darling said it's even better than that in Charcoa's where we paid twice more money.

Overall, we are quite satisfied with Baan Ramida and will continue to choose to live here when we travel to Chiang Mai next time. My daring and I all love here!

We stayed in the spacious top floor room which had a simple but clean
bathroom and was furnished with a couple of pieces of contemporary
thai furniture. We were looking to recoup and were happy to find
room service, free wi-fi, and natural light. The restaurant, while small, was housed in a tastefully designed tropical garden and was a great place to relax. After having spent our first night at the Eurana Boutique Hotel just down the lane where we spent three times as much for a poorer room, we would highly recommend Baan Ramida for couples looking for a 3 star base in Chiang Mai. The large room on the top level is really great and worth the extra baht. The only word of caution would be the room we stayed in was directy above soi 7 so there was the occasional motorbike and car noise but we still slept soundly.

Very cute little hotel with a lush garden cafe. The staff is helpful, though their English is below average. Rooms are spotless. We stayed there for 10 days!
