“Nice reception area and pool area. Room ok...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2014

I stayed here on my trip to Chang Mai , upon first impressions the hotel does look really nice. Check in service was smooth until they give you the key. They left me stood waiting for directions. I had to ask a couple of times where and what direction to go to get to my room.
Once in the room it was ok the room is clean and spacious. I probably wouldn't go as far to say I'm still in a boutique hotel.
Back down in reception I asked for a map of the area. Strangely enough a hotel in Chang Mai doesn't offer a map of the local area. I found this rather disappointing.
The location is brilliant if your looking for a quiet time in Chang Mai. If not and you want to be in the thick of it. It's definitely not the place for you. To get to the old town where all the shops ,bars and cafés are you need to take a tuk tuk. Around 100baht. 10-15min journey. The hotel also offers a free taxi every night at 8:00pm to the old town.
I ordered room service it arrived promptly and was ok.
Over all it was a pleasant stay at the rain forest boutique hotel.

Would I stay here again ? Probably not id go nearer to the old town
Would I recommend it to others? Yes I would it's a nice hotel not 100% boutique and the best service but it was pleasant enough.

I expected lot more from this hotel.

The only boutique concept is on lobby and pool area. Rooms aren't good and the bed isn't comfortable.

Away from everything, so if you want to go to city center you'll have to pay not less than 100 tbh.

We loved this hotel, as we needed somewhere to have some downtime away from the busy streets of Chiang Mai. We were in a dire need of a swim, so we booked a room here for the last two nights. The restaurant was pretty good and cheap, although the breakfast buffet could be a bit better. Their swimming pools were wonderful, and the staff are fantastic and very attentive.

This hotel is fantastic value for money and I would recomend it to anyone, whether you are budgeting or ballin'.Outside chaing tis isn't a problem as they offer a free taxi service every night and there are always taxi's available outside the hotel for as little as 100 baht. The staff are also very helpful and very friendly.I would also recomend booking any activities through the hotel as there good value for money.

My room was booked by one of my family member during a family vacation. We stayed from the 24th March and checked out on the 26th March.

Our room was good, clean and comfortable. It had English and Thai channels of course. The tv was a little bit old school but it served is purpose. They also provided the basic necessities such as hot water, safe box, air cond. My room which I shared with my cousin (twin bed) however did not have a kettle unlike those who stayed in deluxe rooms were provided with it.

The breakfast starts at 8am-10am and is located in front of one of the swimming pools. Food was alright, not many selection though. I particularly like their egg omelette.

About the facilities, free wifi is provided which was such a huge relief for us. There's also 2 swimming pools for those who'd like to take a dip or with children who loves the water. There's also an in house spa/massage centre. I took the oil massage, body wrap and head and feet massage package which cost just 100 baht. The lady who did the massage did not speak English but she was really professional and did a good job.

The staffs at the reception were friendly and nice. When I needed to print my flight boarding pass and make an outgoing local phone call, they were really helpful too. By the way, there's s charge to use their printer; a mere 5baht per page.

I'm not really sure about the location though. The cab from the hotel to Wororot market took about 15 minutes so I guess it's not too far from major locations.

Overall, I would recommend staying here if you're looking for a simple and not too costly place to stay. Enjoy your stay in Chiang Mai!

We've had a great four days at the Rainforest. Family of four, in a family room
PROS.
The family room is more like a junior suite' with separate bedroom
Two swimming pools
Free bus to night market every night
Friendly staff
Helpful staff
The price - only 1,800 baht/ night for the full family with breakfast
Always a taxi of tuk tuk outside
Only 100 baht / £2 into the old town
Peaceful, yet family friendly

CONS
Food is dreadful. Very poor by Thai standards. Not an issue if you eat out, which is cheap.
I've slept on hard mattresses, but this is ridiculous!

It's not in the centre of town but it's easy to get around. We'd recommend this to anyone looking to stay on a budget, without feeling they're on a budget.
