“Quiet and comfort in old Chiang Mai”

You won't go wrong booking here. The room is very large and very nicely furnished. The courtyard and lobby are very attractive and calm. The breakfast was large, and the staff were unfailingly courteous and polite.

Finding the right balance between hot and cold was difficult in the shower, but that's a minor point. It was also a little tricky to find our way back to this hotel, but the signage helps. The reasonable price puts this place firmly in the "excellent" category. Overall, it was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at and I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Amazing value, a small luxury boutique hotel at a modest price. Tucked in a quiet corner of the old city, you can walk to the major temples, museums and restaurants in this area within 15 minutes. Deluxe accommodations and common areas including a pretty pool. Generous and delicious breakfast is served. Chiang Mai can be chaotic and trafficy, so a serene oasis like this is particular welcome at the end of the day.

This place is really worth to stay. The decoration is beautiful in colonial styl. The staff is really friendly and the service is on a very high level. Perfect breakfast and the best coffee (nespresso). The free internet in room is very fast. Also there is a dvd player in the room and you can ask in the lobby for dvd's to watch. Location is at a quiet area from Chiang Mai. You can rent a bike at the lobby. The beds are a little bit hard but we did slept well.

A colleague recommended that we stay at Baan Klang Wiang as he and his wife had stayed there previously and we were so happy that he did! This is such a wonderful little oasis, tucked away from the hustle and bustle and yet still so close to everything. The whole experience from my email enquiry through to check-out was superb. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and show a genuine desire to make sure you are enjoying your stay. Nothing was too much trouble, free flowing Nespresso coffee in reception, which is a fabulous touch as I know how much the pods cost in Thailand (I live in Bangkok and ship them from London)! The ambience is great, really relaxing, airy and comfortable, it really feels like you are in a private home. We booked a superior room and suite and they actually gave us the upgrade to the suite at the same price as the superior room, which was a really nice touch, the only little gripe I personally had was the bed was a little hard for me, but not so that I couldn't sleep! We asked the receptionist to recommend a restaurant for dinner and she came up with a great Italian restaurant - Giorgio's - excellent! On the second night we were going to try a restaurant that another friend had recommended and she genuinely wanted to know our thoughts so that she could recommend it to others if we thought it was good. I am sure we will go back to Chiang Mai again this year and will definitely stay here again and recommend it to all our friends and fellow travellers.

Room Tip: I honestly don't think you have to worry about any of the rooms, they only have 10 rooms so take...

This boutique hotel is like a quite oasis in amongst the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai, we have just stayed at the Bang Klang Wiang and felt like you were staying in someone's home rather than a hotel as the staff where so friendly and welcoming. Our room was a superior king and was spacious and well appointed. Built in a traditional Thai style with a luxurious feel. The breakfast was one best I've had in Thailand and was taken amongst the trees and shrubs that surround the pool area. Obviously I recommend this fantastic hotel and will be returning soon.

Really nice small boutique hotel. The room is clean and very comfortable. The hotel was decorated by antiques but the atmosphere is very relax. Most of all, staffs are very polite and friendly. They are not as professional as the big chain hotel but very helpful and honest. That was really touched!! The service is beyond expectation!

I stay at Baan Klang Vieng various times and when I leave I want to return. This says it all. Efficiently managed, extremely friendly and helpful staff (always the same since my first visit 3 years ago what say something about the hotel management), homey atmosphere, nice and comfortable rooms and all of that in the heart of CM old city not far from Wat Chedi Leuang. One of the best moments at BKV is no doubt the breakfast which you order the night before. In the peaceful courtyard it should be enjoyed and prolonged.

Room Tip: Talk gently with the management and you may be help with a generous rate!
