“Very nice hotel, difficulty sleeping”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

This is a very nice facility with an exceptional indoor/outdoor lobby and is well located in the old city. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was the best we have ever had with with a main course, salad, fruit and rolls.
We had problems sleeping. The day we checked in there were a lot of mosquitos in our room and they made sleeping very difficult that night and the next. We mentioned it to the staff and they sprayed successfully. Unfortunately, even without the mosquitos we still had problems sleeping because of the barking dogs and other noises. These noises are not the fault of the hotel but did wake us several times in the night. Barking dogs are a common problem in Thailand.

We really enjoyed this small hotel in the Old City with its relaxing ambience and delightful staff. Handy for visiting Temples, Markets etc We got a great rate by booking on line and have already booked the suite ( which felt like a small home) for a return visit in November. The hotel is beautifully decorated in Colonial style. Plenty of shops, transport and street food opportunities within a 5 minute walk. We stayed 10 nights and on our last day the staff rewarded us with our breakfast fruit carved in a traditional Thai presentation.

Room Tip: The suite (No 8, upstairs) offers the best views.

What can I say, it is a fantastic hotel. The rooms were clean and well equipped. Staff are nice and helpful. Breakfast is superb!

Special thanks to the duty manager who helped me retrieved my bag that had everything in it which I forgot in the taxi on Chinese New Year.

This hotel truly is beautiful and is an oasis of calm. The staff are wonderfully friendly and always happy to help. They arranged taxis for us when needed and negotiated a price for us.

One morning we needed to leave by 7:30 and so the staff arranged for us to take away our breakfast which was hugely appreciated.

I do think that this hotel would be even better if perhaps there was a little more flexibility around breakfast. The food is lovely and you will not be hungry until well into lunch time but, the fact that you have to choose a time the day before you eat is a tad restrictive.

The pool is very cold too as it is in the shaded court yard, it's nice to jump into after a day sight seeing however!

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and were awed! An absolutely amazing boutique hotel with only 10 rooms. American or Asian Breakfast was made to order each morning. Staff was nice and friendly. I cannot overstate the beauty of this hotel. Very highly recommended.

This is excellent value - large room, decent bathroom, very close to Thapae Gate. Sometimes people have trouble finding this hotel though, because the lanes running off Moon Muang Rd don't run in perfect chronological order (a very Thai urban planning trait!)
Baan Klang Wiang is located on the first soi north of Ratvithi Rd, near Moon Muang and next door to Ponganes Espresso.

Not sure where to start this review as I'm struggling to find words to describe how we were looked after at this amazing little hotel. There was nothing the staff wouldn't do to make sure we were cared for during our stay. Even though there were others staying during our time here we actually felt like we were the only ones there, it was wonderful!! The rooms and the courtyard and pool area were so pretty. Breakfast was delish and served to your table each morning at a time you nominate. There was always to much for us to eat. The nespresso coffee each morning was a lovely way to start the day and after wandering around the old city it was a pleasure to sit in the courtyard and be served a lovely coffee. We cannot thank the staff at the hotel enough, from the security guard, the breakfast staff and the beautiful hotel duty manager, our holiday was made so special because of you!!! Thank you, thank you , thank you
