“Missing Siripanna already!”
Reviewed 18 July 2011

We (reluctantly) left Siripanna two days ago, wishing we had booked longer than the five nights. Having travelled extensively, with and without children, we can confidently say that this was the best hotel or resort we have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. All of the positive reviews cover it - the amazing welcome and ongoing service, the dedicated and friendly staff, the fabulous buffet breakfasts, lunch menu and a la cart dinner, pool and drinks service, exquisite decor and ambiance...there are not enough adjectives! The spa was out of this world and with a two-for-one offer was quite reasonable and much more atmospheric than cheaper spas. Now we are staying at another resort in Thailand, we realise how we were so spoilt at Siripanna! If you have children who are content within a quiet relaxed setting, consider Siripanna as we could not have been made to feel more welcome. Highly recommended to everyone!

My boyfriend and I spent 5 nights at Siripanna in a Grand Deluxe Lanna suite and didn't regret splurging a little on this truely lovely hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and polite... I left my camera in the restaurant just before checking out and only realised once we had been dropped off at the train station (by one of the hotel drivers). With 40 minutes until our train departed, we didn't have long to retrieve the camera. It wasn't long until was delivered to us at the train station and we still had time to leisurely get on board. Many thanks to those who helped out!
The hotel room was such a treat, with beautiful decor & fixtures. The bed was amazingly comfy... never before have I found it so hard to get up in the morning! Our balcony, which overlooked the pool and hotel complex was lovely to relax on, especially when hiding from the rain storms. The pool was well maintained and the on-site bar with daily 2-4-1 deals on cocktails meant that we enjoyed a good few drinks from the cooling comfort of the water.
The restaurant serves a good buffet style breakfast and the dinner menu is a really moutwatering one.
The location of the hotel, which is about 30 minutes walk to the night bazaar, means it is slightly outside the centre of Chiang Mai, but the transport link which the hotel provides is really useful - make sure you book your seat early though, especially for the 7pm tuk tuk!!
If you're looking for a more luxurious hotel in Chiang Mai, I'd certainly recommend Siripanna.

This hotel was fantastic! The staff were always friendly, helpful and attentive. The room had very comfortable and large beds, and was well serviced and clean. There was also a large bath and shower. Lovely interior design. The location of the hotel was not that central. There are no restaurants or shops nearby. If you are going anywhere you must take a tuk tuk or taxi. All the amenities are very good. There is a large pool perfect to relax after a long day and a 24hour gym. There is also a good quality restaurant with yummy breakfast and good value lunch for 39 baht. The best thing about this hotel was the amenities and the worst thing was the location. If I were to come back to Chiang Mai I would definitely stay here again! And recommend it to everyone!

We have been here for the past 4 nights and I rate this place extremely highly. The staff cannot do enough for you. They are couteous in the extreme and very helpful for things like ordering tuk-tuks into town, organizing further travel etc. The resort is clean, the deluxe room my wife and I stayed in was spacious and the bathroom was well appointed.

Breakfast was very good. The range of food was good enough for me as I don't like junk food like hash browns. When in Asia I like to eat Asian food and the food offered here was pretty good. Same for lunch. The 39 baht lunch menu had small portions but certainly enough to feel comfortable, unless you are a huge eater in which case you'd be better off going into town to the restaurants.

Overall, we loved it here and we will come back if we are ever this way again.

This was a fantastic hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Taking ill in the middle of the night early on in the holiday(nothing to do with the hotel) they immediately drove me to the hospital. The next few days staff were good enough to enquire how I was, and I also received some flowers to the room.

All staff acknowledged you with a friendly smile and hello - from the gardeners to housekeeping, the security doorman, bar and restaurant staff and reception. They helped with all queries about getting around and places to visit - one night we wanted a change from thai food, reception helped us find an indian restaurant and they even dropped us off in the hotel car.

The hotel has a really relaxing atmosphere, with the rooms surrounded by greenery in a sort of motel style. The pool area has an unusual design but with a beautiful peaceful setting and was mostly relatively quiet. Some days you almost had the pool to yourself.

We found the rooms of a high standard, the bed was huge and so comfy. We were in a second floor room which overlooked the rice field and slept like logs. Air conditioning good.

Food was excellent. The choice at breakfast was fairly extensive. At lunch there was a 39 bhat menu. Portions may be a little small for some people but at that price you can easily order two dishes. (although us westerners should perhaps take a leaf out of the thai book in terms of portion control as most thais are slim!). You can of course eat out really cheap but to be honest we didn't find many restaurants that met up to the food standard in the hotel.

Didn't use the spa facitlites, but everyone knows you'll always get cheaper outside than in the hotels. There was a gym that anyone could use.

The location was about 10 mins MAX in a tuk tuk from the city and only cost about 80 bhat, alhough there is a free shuttle service that goes a few times a day but only drops off in one main location. To be honest we enjoyed being a little out as I think it helped give the hotel the feel of peace and relaxation being away from the bustle of the city. There is also a golf course just along the road.

All in all we had a great experience in this hotel. We usually like the aninimity of a larger hotel but have changed our minds since staying at the Siripanna. If we are ever back in Chiang Mai this is definitely the place we will be staying at.

The Siripanna is simply beautiful - in every respect, from the quality of its construction, beautiful furnishings, lovely pool, established gardens, impeccable service and fabulous restaurant, to the lovely rooms and its convenient location. We've never had a better stay anywhere in the world, and we've extensively travelled.

The standout for this hotel is that the beautiful construction and facilities are complimented perfectly by a front of house team that are exceptional and cannot do enough for you. In particular, Kate on the front desk was so helpful in responding to (and anticipating) our every need. She made sure we understood all options for tours, and carefully put together an itinerary for us that represented the best quality and value of all the tours we had in Thaliand (Particularly recommend the Baan Thai Cookery School and the Elephant Tour - both organised for us by Kate). The staff very kindly arranged for us to be made a special Anniversary cake, and one evening on our return from a night out, brought it to us as a surprise. Completely unexpected, but a lovely gesture by the hotel.

We used the Spa facilities and my wife and I took a Thai massage together. While the cost was a little high compared to elsewhere, the experience was out of this world. The massage was fantastic and the dedicated Spa facility was amazing. Thus the price was high, but the value was there too.

Location - the hotel is very convenient for Airport and Train Station (we were met by a driver with our name on a card - complimentary - from the Train Station after a couple of emails to arrange - very efficient). The hotel is just a few minutes by Tuk Tuk from downtown, and the hotel runs a complimentary service in the evenings to take you to the Night Market. Getting back is just a short Tuk Tuk or Taxi ride (100-150Baht). So, while it's not downtown, it's the closest you could be to downtown while enjoying the wonderful resort Oasis that it is. Perfect.

Every aspect of service in this hotel is 5* and much larger more established chains would do well to try to emulate the quality of service here. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone and am tempted to return to this part of Thailand in future, if only to use this Hotel again, and to stay longer next time. Perfection in Chiang Mai.

Room Tip: We stayed in a Deluxe Lanna room - all are good.

Stayed here for 3 days in June staff is excellent and is very helpful with whatever your needs are. Grounds are beautifull as are the common areas. This boutique hotel is not near the main town so you will have to take a taxi or Tuk Tuk which they will call for you. They have a nice Tuk Tuk, but only use it to go into the shopping bazar in the evening at 7 or 8. Make sur you make a reservation.
The walls are kind of thin so if you stay downstairs, you cagn hear them walking. Also I was at the end of the hall room 2112 and it was noisy when the staff started in the morning. You can also hear the street traffic and barking dogs. Breakfast was good and the service was excellent also. I would stay here again but in a different area now that I know the layout of the property.
