“An oasis in Ching Mai”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

Service: the staffs have same level wz the five stars hotel service.
Breakfast: not like hotel buffet style with many choices but it's like in a small bistro cafe with garden around you. A la carte Hot dishes can order during breakfast hours and also free of charge when order room service for breakfast.
Room: family suite with one bedroom is very big as well as the big terrace beside the garden
Location:5 mins walk to riverside restaurants,2 mins walk to a local market which has fresh and clean food,15 mins walk to main gate of old town and we have a 70 years old mama so get a sontaew car 20 baht per person from hotel.
Spa: good ambiance, very professional technic and affordable price.
Environment: green green green and flowering everywhere. Staffs maintain the hotel very well.
Tour service: we found an english speaking local driver who has a Toyota ALTIS air condition car and charter him 10 hours total paid 2000 baht (driving and oil). He offered very good service and drove safely. Name: Art ,phone:+66820397847

Room Tip: Higher floor would be better for avoiding mosquitos

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shewe Wana. We are family of 3 and stayed in a 1 bedroom family suite which was the perfect amount of space. Very clean. Gardens are beautiful and immediately gave a relaxing vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful when required. I was expecting to be bitten by a lot of Mosquitos due to all the greenery but we only saw a couple. Location is good 10 mins from old city in a red taxi truck/ or Tuk Tuk which are easy to get out the front for 20 baht / person. Nice to be out of the hustle and bustle at the end of a day. Overall a great place to stay with a family.

Hotel was great overall. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had a one bedroom suite with a 2 yr old and space was perfect for our needs. Like other reviews have said, this is an oasis in the middle of a chaotic neighborhood. Once you are on the grounds, it is a hidden gem. That said, the location is the only downside to this hotel. It would be perfect if located in the old part of town. Not many eating or grocery options nearby. But also, not hard to get a tuk tuk or red cab in front of the hotel either. Just be prepared to drive about 10-15 mins to get to the more "happening" area of Chiang Mai.

We stayed at Shewe Wana for 6 nights. 3 generation, starting at 1,5 year old girl ending at a 63 year old grand father. :-) We had an excellent stay, nice and clean apartment. Very friendly personal, level of english was good in the reception. The service level was excellent whenever we needed help, starting from the moment we arrived to early at the hotel, by supplying us with a temporary room while waiting for our apartment to be cleaned.

Somewhat cold pool with limited sun during the day.

Hello we have just come back from a ten night stay in the single bed suite ,we stayed alongside my daughter and her family who were above us . The suite was excellent with lots of space to move ,, air con and fridge etc , Breakfast was brilliant with choices galore , reception was superb with very friendly staff trying to help with everything asked for . Location did require a lift into the night market which was supplied by the Hotel but we nearly always got a Tuk Tuk as it added to the experience oh and there is a Tesco nearby for essentials . Loved the walk to our suite through lush vegetation and Orchids so special . If there has to be a downside always leave your bedroom door open otherwise the staff will not make your bed we had this on several occasions ,we felt it was a little quirky lol my daughter had used room service and she felt it lacked just a little . All in all mosquitos apart I would return to this resort as it was a lovely place to be , just a touch away from perfect xx

Room Tip: We went for the one bed suite and found it very spacious and comfortable ,would stay away from groun...

Fabulous quirky (in the good sense) hotel. It was just a lovely jewel of a place.

Pros:
Nice, large, clean room on second floor
On-premises cafe and restaurant with reasonably priced food made to western tastes
Good service
Can book day trip at the front desk
Interesting location, just a few minutes' walk or a short tuk tuk ride to the city
Very reasonable price

Cons:
Not exactly central to the city, but the location is very interesting and really not too far away.

The hotel appears to be located in the midst of a small commercial area with motor repair shops lining the street leading to the town. It was very interesting to walk by these places, because it wasn't the usual tourist sight -- it was real life in Chiang Mai. At night, the shops close and sidewalk restaurants spring up all over the place. These restaurants are for the locals, and it was really interesting to see them.

1st the outlook of the hotel will let you think this is just a so so hotel, because you can't really see anything from the outside...but once you step inside the compound you will be amazed by its beauty!!
Friendly and helpful staff will greet you and instantly you feel home away from home..follow by the long path to our suite...50m from the reception, which feels like you are in a small jungle full of orchids and greenery.Quiet surrounding make you really forgot you are in the Chiang Mai city!!Room/suite is huge...definitely 1 of the best!!

Room Tip: For honeymooners...get the last row of the room and 3rd floor...no 1 will walk pass that!!
