We stayed here for 5 nights and could not complain about one thing. Location is good just a 5 minute walk to the town and a couple of dollars by tuk tuk. The gym and pool are good, and breakfast is ample....Staff were great and made us feel at home right from the start.

Room Tip: Carpark is one one side of residence and the odd tuk tuk dropping off guests late at night can be no...

Situated at a fifteen minute walking distance from the night bazaar this is THE place to stay if what you look for in a hotel is peace and quiet.

Situated across the Ping river in the back lanes the hotel is in one of the most peaceful environs of Chiang Mai. A fifteen minute walk brings you in the heart of the night bazaar district.

The price of the room includes four set options for breakfast. Fresh fruit, juice, tea/coffee, either eggs made to order or cereal. It is quite a scrumptious breakfast. The hotel does not have any room service or even a restaurant but that should not deter you . Just outside the gate on the right is Hinlay Curry house which serves good affordable curry. There are quite a few restaurants within walking distance.

I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a peaceful environment to come back to after a day's touring.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool have a better view as those at the back just have a trellis for view.

Rooms were quite big, airy, clean and had decent facilities. Breakfast facilities was good, they took an effort and catered to us as we are vegetarians. We din't use the swimming pool but it looked clean and well maintained. The hotel as such is located in a quiet lane away from the hustle of the centre but still only about 15 mts by foot from all the main areas such as the night market andE all the spas and pubs. Overall we had a great stay, and will definitely return to this hotel if we holiday in Chiang Mai again.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms overlooking the pool!

You cannot fault the facilities at the Sakorn Residence. Even the standard rooms are large and well appointed:  modern bathroom, safe, hairdryer, fridge stocked with well-priced drinks. The rooms are also spotlessly clean. There is a pool, exercise room and breakfast area near the pool. The breakfasts are freshly cooked, promptly served and abundant. What the Sakorn lacks though is atmosphere. The service is efficient but without much warmth; the hotel corridors and pool area are plastered with  'please be quiet' signs so if you have kids with even normal (European) levels of boisterousness, you rather feel like bulls in a china shop. As to location, the hotel is certainly quiet even if close to some popular riverside bars but any trip to downtown really requires a tuktuk ride, given the heat and difficulty in crossing roads safely. In short, if it's important to you to have a nice room at good price in a quiet location, this is an excellent choice. If you like a lively place in the thick of things, look elsewhere.

Clean and big rooms, quiet environment and safe area. Good breakfast and it has a small swimming pool. Location a bit far from the centre (10-15 min on foot) but it is ok for me. Helpful staff too. In general, good value for money.

We stayed here several nights in July 2011 - superior room with extra bed @ THB 1.700 and found it to be great value. Yes, it is not extremely exotic in style or location, but it is clean, rooms are big, clean and comfortable, the pool is good and clean and staff is nice. For the price it is great value. Ask for rooms facing the entry on a high floor - view to mountains is great.

Stayed here with 2 families. One American the other Thai. Enjoyed our stay and did have fun in the nice pool. great to have a pool with a small children's area in it. Rooms were quiet but not overly spacious. Room just lacked any charm and was only average in size. For a "residence" type room you would expect it to be more spacious than a hotel not the same size. Everything was in good repair. Staff at breakfast easily confused and slow. Food was very nice. Thai family really liked the place and took lots of pictures. Small kids enjoyed the pool. I am a picky farang woman so I saw some areas for improvements. ;)
