“Excellent hotel”

One of my best choices of hotel, we had a great time there, especially like the pool, fish in the yard and breakfast. The car and motorbike rent is very convenient. It's in the old city, very close to the temple and tourist agent for one day trips.

Room Tip: Facing the pool

We stayed at De Lanna Hotel for 6 days. We got a shock when we first pulled up out the front, but once we got in and settled in our rooms we loved it. It is a bit out of the way to what we were used to in Patong but red trucks were easy to pick up for 20B per person for short trips.
It was a small cosy place with a lovely pool. Wifi, flat screen tv with DVD, room service, safe, air con, but would stay closer in near the restaurants and shopping if I went to Chiang Mai again.I didn't think the rooms were worth $100 Aud per night considering were we had just come from in Patong was $70 per night and was right in the heart of it all and much better.

Room Tip: Ground floor was good.

Dear lovely guests,

Thank you for your valuable comments. Our location in Chiang Mai is totally different from what you experienced in Patong since Chiang Mai city center is a historical area surrounding with Wat (temples) and boutique & art shops. For Patong (Phuket Island) is a party and shopping area. It's a very crowded place. Therefore, when you first arrived here made you shocked as you said. We are situated in the old city center and are not crowded with shopping area and fancy restaurants. However, we are surrouded by Wat and many historical places such as museum, local restaurant, and gallery art shops. Thank you again for your valuble comments.

Sincerely yours,

All the previous punters have covered off well on this place, so not much needs to be said....

We had a deluxe room, some things not previously mentioned.........

Room and floor layout is North Thai style (Lanna), raised timber floor, low bed, and with the other timber furniture and stained glass, is a nice feel away from the usual sterile concrete boxes (Hey Manager, sterile is not a compliment)

You can watch TV from the bath tub! Bonus!

Lighting options are great, variety of options with dimmers, you can really set a mood in the room

Work-bench (bed) is top-notch, and not to far to the floor if bedroom gymnastics get out of hand!

Pool has no shade, so I was thinking that this could be another in-utero Thai swim experience (water temp >35 degC), particularly as only September, but was presently surprised at temp of <30 degC! Could be something to do with the impressive filter pump volume

Breakfast was ordinary

Tariff competitive, about $90 AUD

In the NW section of Old City, quiet, closer to cultural sites, but further from night life and markets

Myself and 2 adults daughters enjoyed 4 nights in this beautiful setting. We had a ground floor honeymoon suite with the pristine pool outside. Large room with spa etc. and plenty of storage. Very close to shopping and restaurants and markets.
Onsite restaurant is excellent and a good selection of bottled wine is available and served in a wine bucket (very important in the heat). Great breakfast. Private Tours were organized for us very efficiently and inexpensively. I recommend the pickup service from the airport. Thank you to all the staff.

Room Tip: We had a ground floor end unit. No passing guests and faces the pool. Cliental mainly Asian groups a...

Where do i start....loved the design of the room beautiful wooden floors, bath was great to soak in after a hot day of sightseeing.

The pool is the best i have had in thailand, clean, so pretty, and large.

The staff were so hospitable always smiling. Location is central, and we also had breakfast included which was delicious.

Highly recomended. Will be back soon.

Room Tip: Room with bath is a much better size.

We were positively surprised about this hotel. The hotel is decorated in a Thai style, not in a "farang" style for once. The location is perfect to visit the old city and the temples but it's very quiet at the same time. The only "negative" point is maybe the service at the reception. They were quite cold and not very welcoming, but still they proposed us to give us a room with the swimming pool view instead of a noisy one close to the maintenance works in the street. The breakfast was also very enjoyable. We paid around 67 USD a night (including taxes and breakfast) so it has a good quality/price ratio.
