De Lanna Hotel was a great find for us in Chiang Mai. Location was perfect, right in the middle
of Old City and close to many land marks we enjoyed swimming in the pool and evening cocktails Thai massage venues all close by walking. Rooms was very impressed with the quality, bed was comfortable and had decent linen, bathroom was well equipped shower and bath and plenty of space. Everything in the hotel was well maintained and the swimming pool was a reasonable size. The breakfast buffet was ok and nothing more. Would be happy to stay there again, but they really need to improve the food quality.

The room is a good size, which is helped as every room has a balcony overlooking the garden & Koi ponds. The mini bar is a really good price & the speakers in the bathroom are a good touch!

The staff are always willing to assist you & the bar staff are very friendly making you feel very welcomed, they even organised a birthday cake for me which was yummy! The location is ideal, quiet but close to major attractions.

There isn't any gym facilities but the pool was lovely & didn't have a problem with Mosquitos. The rooms however were prone to getting Mosquitos but not anymore than other places in Thailand. Just get a mozzie coil! Lovely place would stay again for sure. Thank you

For the price, this is a great hotel to stay in: beautiful courtyard with pool, great interiors, good a/c too. From the hotel, you can already walk and explore several wats and sample oh so heavenly Thai massages (just over the next block). There are lots of street side "Thai cantinas" that serve good food, not to mention cheap too. As the title of this review says, watch out for the mosquitos: the rooms are basically just balconies with doors out in the open. so it is quite easy for mosquitos to get in, especially when the room is being cleaned by housekeeping. Maybe the fact that I was on a ground floor room was a factor. It MIGHT not be much of a problem on the upper floors.

All in all, you'll be surprised at what you get for such a reasonable price...

Dear lovely guests,

Thank you for your comments. In this hot and rainy season, there are a lot of mosquitos out there. We also warn our guests about this by our reception staffs. At the twilight time, the mosquitos start come out. We tell our guests to not leave the door open at that time. Thank you again for your comments and sorry for any inconvenient occured during your stay.

Sincerely yours,

the hotel consists of a three floor building with a very nice yard in the center, with old well cared of trees and a small clean pool. Every room has either a balcony or a terasse facing to the yard. We booked the honeymoon suite on the ground floor with garden view. It was perfect! Clean, quiet and nicely furnitured. The staff is always friendly and gives you all advices and information you need. You can also book activities from the hotel. Information was always good and correct, prices comparable to the ones you find in the old city. Breakfast was very good.. european and we even tried the thai breakfast. Only the restaurant did not convince us. Expensive and not as good as the ones we have found in the neigbourhood. And they cannot mix a Tequila Sunrise..

Dear lovely guests,

Thank you for your comments. Our restaurant is actually not expensive, but we set the price higher than you have on the food street around the hotel. Normally, every hotel set its food price over market standard, but for our restaurant is set the price of all food and beverage at a resonable prices. Many past reviews also mentioned about our restaurant in that way. Anyway, for customized drink that you asked for, our new restaurant staffs might not be able to do so since it was out of the menu and they didn't know how to charge you for the price. Right now, we already trained our new staffs to learn how to do a customized drinks and how to manage the bills. Sorry for any inconvenience occurred and thank you for your valuable comments.

Sincerely yours,

This is a beautiful clean safe friendly and well-kept hotel. Nice staff, clean a/c rooms beautiful decor and pool area. A decent breakfast and walking distance to lots of temples and neat stuff. One problem: free wifi signals are sketchy and cuts out often, but manageable.

Would return gladly!

The hotel itself does not look very good from the outside but once you get into the central courtyard it looks very good and well maintained, decent sized swimming pool with a reasonable amount of seating and everything was well maintained. My partner particularly liked the fish pool running alongside the path.

Stayed in the honeymoon suite and couldn't fault the room, comfortable bed and chairs, tv, fridge and kettle, with two free bottle of water everyday. Plenty pf storage space for clothes and bags. Shower worked well and the spa bath was nice to relax in, towels were of good quality. I couldn't fault the room itself.

Location was fine easy ride from the airport and within easy walking distance of a range of cafes and restaurants we particularly liked the one connected to the womens prison. You can walk to a few temples and sights but really need to high a car or tuk-tuk to see a lot.

Now for the bad parts, this could have been due to us staying over Songkran, but the staff were indifferent and the food poor.

I ordered pork chop, vegetables and apple sauce. The pork chop was cooked just, the vegetables raw and the apple sauce not existent, I got a strange pepper sauce covering everything. I only ate part of it and was suffering from stomach pains later in the night. My partner ate Thai and her comment was it was 'Ok'. The breakfast was edible just, overcooked eggs, poor bacon and hot dogs to name a couple.

The staff when they could be bothered gave you the minimum service they could. On my first day i asked for laundry to be done, told no have, might be one down the road and was given some directions, not there so left the bag in the room, two days later the bag was taken with my clothes finally being returned another 3 days later after chasing them. I have to give the cleaning staff praise everything was well maintained.

I would try this hotel again but not over Songkran in the hope that at other times it works better as overall its a decent place

Dear lovely guests,

Thank you for your comments. We will improve our services and also our food services as well. There might be some of our new cook to make food for you that day and we will definitely re-train him again. The laundry ervice is normally take a day to finish. However, over Songkran period the laundry shop that we use might be closed and that's why it took a 3-day period to get back on your clothes. Sorry for any inconveniece occurred to you and we will definitely improve it.
