our stay in Baan Kiri was great. The room was cozy and comfortable, perfect for our stay. The guesthouse is located near a national park, so you can rent a motorbike from them to reach the center (it's very easy!). Mim & Gary were absolutely lovely.

We stayed at baankiri for one month, and we have to say we had an amazimg time. The house is lovely, the eco-kitchen with thai style cooker was great, fully furnished, in green peaceful place. Motobike available for rent to get to chiang mai and sourroundings. And the best are the hosts! Thanks Gary and Mim for all your trip advices and kindness, we will be definitely back again.

The best thing about this place is easily the hosts, though their breakfasts are a close second. The little garden and nearby pool were great for toddlers, and the flat very spacious. Definitely out of the way, but great if you're interested in discovering a different, more local and very green side of Chiang Mai. A rental car if you can manage it makes all the difference!

We stayed in Baan Kiri for just under 4 weeks and it felt like home from home. the location was absolutely perfect, close to the city centre bur far enough to enjoy the peace and gorgeous nature that Chaing Mai has to offer. I seriously could not recommend the guest house enough! Nothing was too much trouble for the fantastic owners Gary and Mim, they organised every trip we said we were interested in, gave excellent information on all that Chaing Mai has to offer and were so welcoming! We stayed in the banana room but had a chance to see some of the other rooms available and all are beautifully decorated, extremely clean and very large, there was plenty of space to make yourself at home, There are loads of shops and restaurants near by, waterfalls, swimming pools, lakes and much more! There was never a dull day and I cant wait to go back and meet up with my Thai family in Baan Kiri! A massive thank-you to Gary and Mim for making our trip so special!!!! If you're planning a trip to Chiang Mai you would be a fool not to stay at this beautiful guest house, and to all those planning there stay here, enjoy, knowing we are extremely jealous.

Room Tip: Banana room was well air conditioned, well decorated and beautiful!

Best days in Chiang Mai-EVER!

After we had stood in two different hostels/b&bs we booked Baan Kiri, because of the good reviews and we absolutly loved it!

Even though it is not in the city centre it is more than worth a try:

-the houseowners mim&gary are AMAZING! They are the perfect hosts and you will definetly get the best recommentments for tours/sightseeing

-it is not as touristy as the other places, the markets are brilliant and the food is so delicious

-it is perfect for backpackers as well! All the hostels in the city centre try to sell you expensive trips... we wanted to do a hike and were pretty disappointed by the offer! But gary had such nice insider recommendments-best days so far in thailand!

So yes it is a bit outside, but you should come here! You don't need that much time to visit the city centre! It is not big- you can do that on one afternoon.

We had so much fun and can only recommend it to you!

Ps.: Mims breakfast is legendary :-)

Lots of love
