“excellent service, staff went over and above at all times”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2014

Staff went out of their way to be helpful.
Beds are hard - pillow tops for the mattresses would be a really positive addition. I asked for and was given an extra duvet which I folded and put under my backside to ease the hardness - that worked well.
Excellent evening meals - very good prices. but only ice cream for desert.
Pool cold at this time of year., but weather not that warm for this time of year. Chiang Mai is smaller and more manageable than Bangkok, but still masses to see and visit, and feels very safe. If teens are backpacking send them here - and a lovely area in town full of backpacker hostels and services for them.
Well recommended.

Room Tip: beds are hard - really could do with pillow tops to the mattresses. Otherwise staff bent over backw...

- Room was really nice, comfortable, big, clean, great decorations with fast wifi (free of charge).
- Service, cute with welcome drink and sweet note from hotel manager on the bed.
- We didn't have breakfast there so we don't have idea for it but the restaurant looks great.
- Shuttle was the bad one. I don't understand, they said they have free service to many places in the city and some of them without charge. But my husband and I, were so sure about airport shuttle. We didn't care if it's with or without charge. We need only safe transport to hotel. Hotel is really far from airport. And we were cheated by the local taxi so look, there's only one reason to book this hotel, airport shuttles. We accepted that we were not in the airport when we called the hotel, we we're in Central plaza airport, The landmark shopping mall which locates 2km from airport. If you arrived to the airport you can just turn right from airport gate and walk straight then the shopping will be on the right. We begged to send us the driver and we rejected twice. Finally we called local taxi and paid 150 Baht. It was really far and hard to find you know? Many taxi didn't pick us also. And we could get hotel service to market finally when we checked out but with 300 Baht charge.
- Quality of sleep: not so well, we got the room next to swimming pool so we hardly sleep up to midnight and the guests upstairs, every movements we heard it. I'm not sure what kind of materials they use for the floor sounds like wooden floor so when they walk or drop something, we woke up.
- I do love the style and bathroom.

Room Tip: Do not pick up the room at first floor especially next to the swimming pool.

This place is nicely out of town and a good little getaway especially if you are getting one of the larger rooms with a bathtub. The service was great and the staff was helpful. The room was beautiful and the beds were comfortable. Close enough to town that a taxi is not too expensive but far enough away that you feel a little more out in nature with the mountains nearby and a river running along the resort. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in 303 and enjoyed it very much.

Just stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend and the place is excellent value I'd say. Small, almost homely, with friendly staff and a good chef making the Thai food. We stayed in the Family Suite although only 2 of us to get the better views and some space. Pool nice & quiet and in fact there were only a few guests so that made the place feel even more just like your own quiet space. Great choice for couple not looking for nightlife etc.

Location is not actually that far out of town (5 minutes easy drive north of city ring road).

Good points - rooms, staff, location, very peaceful & relaxing ambience.

Room for improvement - careful of noise from rooms immediately above (footsteps & voices easily heard) but this was not bad enough to put us off a return visit!

Room Tip: If you are after best hill & pool views then the Family Suite or Honeymoon Suite are the ones to...

I wasn't sure how this resort was going to turn out before I arrived as I was a bit skeptical. But Kiree Thara turned out to be a gem in a sea of CM resorts, and at very incredible value!

The somewhat zen atmosphere impressed me most. Quiet and tastefully designed lobby, restaurant, and pool garden all scored high marks in my book. There are only 20+ rooms and suites altogether which makes this a low density hotel resort - very important factor to me as I hate busy guest traffic and screaming restless kids to spoil the peace. The fact that it was low season also contributed a low density.

We stayed in an executive suite which is about 45 sqm, very spacious and tastefully decorated. The windows facing outside have a high bamboo hedge providing privacy yet letting in plenty of light into the room. In addition to a king bed there is also a single bed for a third guest. The hard wood floor set the tone for a Thai manor interiors. A small marble top kitchen counter with a sink and small fridge underneath provide beverages and snacks all free of charge. Overall very nice decent room with amenities.

The place is on the outskirts of town, 20 minute by car northwest of city centre. It helps if you have wheels as taxis or tut tuts are hard to come by.

Definitely my type of resort for returning.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms with window facing the pool area if privacy is important to you.

Recommend.
Stayed for 4 days. Room was great, staff friendly, a great place to stay. Some great advice we got from our taxi driver was when getting a Tuk Tuk back to the resort was to mention that the resort is next to the new stadium. We were a fair way out of town (approx 200-250 baht for a 3 wheeler) and many drivers did not know of it which made getting back there difficult - a few times we had to direct the driver on which way to take.

Because of the small size of the resort we found that we had the pool to ourselves, breakfast was a good array of western and asian basics, overall a fairly quiet place.

I stayed at the resort for seven nights as an included component of an external program, so I have no idea how much the resort usually costs and whether or not it is good value. This could have prompted an 'Average' overall score, but as 'value for money' wasn't a factor I've increased my rating to 'Very Good'.

The resort itself is really nice and in a nice setting, approximately a 15-30 minute drive from the central city and shopping malls. The pool and surrounding area is lovely - lots of plants and trees, however it's in the shade all afternoon. So sun bathing by the pool is really only possible on a morning.

The room was nice and the bed huge and very comfortable. However the main window looked out onto the veranda and therefore I had to keep the blind closed all the time. This was the only source of natural light, apart from the bathroom, in which again I had to keep the blinds closed for obvious reasons! This left the room very dark. Otherwise it was clean and had all the mod cons as well as being spacious.

The food was good, although they got my order wrong a couple of times and I had to send food back. There is a great wifi signal. Mostly the staff are friendly but simple requests sometimes seemed difficult.

A couple of small things the resort can do - get 'do not disturb' signs for the rooms, at times these are necessary. Also offer an option (via a card in the room) to keep towels rather than having them changed every single day, in order to help the environment.

It's a nice place but I definitely wouldn't want to pay the earth to stay here.
