Nice rooms and a very friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. There is not much which could be improved except the breakfast variety. It was more or less the same every day.
It is very quiet and the staff is very customer focused.

This hotel is a gem, I cannot say enough good about it. It is an oasis in the middle of the city. Gorgeous romantic old-Thai style design. Beautiful pool. Fabulous bar with fun cocktails. Food is delicious. Walkable to all sites in Old Town. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would stay here again for sure. I wished I could have stayed longer! Great for families, couples, single travelers. There is a small gym area, with only a couple of machines. Best to get your exercise walking around lovely Old Town!

We stayed here from 4th to 11th May 2014 and our stay was unforgettable. The resort is located within the old town, and is therefore near many local attractions. There are always tuk tuks or songathaws outside should you want to go somewhere further or dont want to walk in the heat (it us often too hot to walk too far!) The resort is beautifully decorated and designed very well. The room we had was a Dahla superior. It was huge, large comfortable bed, large tv, 4 bottles of water supplied each day, mini bar, safe, umbrella, nice bathroom with shower and bath, tea & coffee replenished daily. We had a balcony overlooking the gorgeous pool. The pool itself was small but we swam in it each day, its so nice to cool down in. The pool area was lovely and the pool bar supplied the most fantastic cocktails in Chiang Mai. We had complimentary thai crackers when we purchased two drinks. You could also buy food at the pool bar. The main restaurant served fantastic breakfast and the main menu for lunch or dinner was plentiful, food was always fantastic and of high quality and not overly expensive. The staff at the Rim were fantastic and couldnt do enough for you, they were always very polite and helpful. If you need help with transport, tours etc, they can sort this for you. We had one issue on arriving to our room, thr balcony lock was broken, within 5 minutes of reporting this, someone came to fix it, fantastic service!! We cannot fault the Rim Resort, it was all we wished for and more.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view when you book as it is such a lovely area to overlook.

This hotel is a haven of peace and tranquility, it is within the ancient city, just by the Canal, an easy walk to the local cafés and shops. Also only around 2-3k walk (if you can manage the heat) to the more lively side of Chang Mai. There are always tuk-tuks outside the hotel if you want the more convenient way to travel, there are also shuttle buses available to the markets (free) and the airport (for a small fee). The staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and also very quiet and efficient. The pool is closed after 7pm and the bar closes early so even in a room overlooking these there shouldn't be any rowdy drinking crowds. The rooms are clean, have everything you could want, a large bath and separate shower too. The beds are firm but so comfortable and I slept like a log as the curtains are the best blackout curtains I've ever seen. Wifi was good too. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. All in all an excellent hotel I would totally recommend and I will be back for sure.

Room Tip: I doubt there's a bad place to stay here as the whole place seemed really quiet. A great base t...

We stayed at the Rim Resort for 4 Night whilst in Chiang Mai. Our room was facing the Pool, which was great for easy access during the day. We were amazed at how quite and serene the hotel was, because it did seem to have a good number of guests. The Hotel is beautifully presented, at night when it's lit up, it's amazing. Our room was a good size, considering we had our Teenage Son sharing with us. Breakfast was excellent each morning, with a selection that satisfied everyone. Pool side menus had a great selection and the food was very good. The staff supply a friendly, but professional service. Not much more to say, apart from that we had a wonderful stay at The Rim Resort. P.s Make sure you try the Cocktail Selection, my favourite was Lord of the Rim....

The Rim is right in the center of Chiang Mai old town and you can walk easily to the attractions in Chiang Mai. The pool is small but beautiful. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. Bikes for rent (free). The Restaurant "The canal"offer good food for recent prices. We do recommend this hotel.
Only 4 stars because it was a little expensive because breakfast we had to pay extra.

The hotel is located western part of old city, and it is a walking distance to the famous old temples and Sunday night bazaar, good location. Hotel also provides free shuttle bus (one way) to night bazaar, it's convenient. All the staff were very polite and kind.
The room is clean and neat. There were some mosquitos, but hotel provides mosquito spray in the room. We stayed at level 3, but there is no lift, need to walk up there. Swimming pool is located at the centre of the hotel.
Hotel serves simple but fresh and tasty breakfast, we enjoyed it very much. The breakfast venue was also clean and cozy place.
Overall, it was a very nice stay at the Rim!
