“Stunning Hotel”
Reviewed 25 August 2014 via mobile

We stayed at The Rim Resort for 3 nights but could of stayed longer. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the hotel has lots of character and the rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. I would absolutely recommend and would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is very cute and the staff are very nice and helpful. the rooms are nice, in a traditional thai design, simple and not overly modern. We were there for work so my main complaint is that the Wi-fi was terrible at best, so if this is important to you, then you might want to reconsider.

the restaurant was superb. one of our traveling companions had severe dietary restrictions and they always were so helpful in accommodating her needs and remembered her any time we walked in and immediately offered dining suggestions for her!

the gym area is not very big and has limited equipment, but there is so much to do in the area and we were there for work that this didn't really affect us too much.

the beds were a bit firm, but we found this to be the case in most of the Thai hotels we went to on out trip (4 hotels) most were on platform beds so there wasn't as much give as on a standard bed with a box spring.

We recently stayed at the Rim for 3 nights and found this to be a lovely little hotel. We arrived at 10am after 24hours of travelling and we were welcomed with cold towels and drinks. Although check in wasn't until 2pm they said they would upgraded our room so we could have a room straight away. Although this was a lovely gesture I don't think we were up graded as the room seemed to be the same as what I had booked online.

The room was big and spacious with 4 bottles of complimentary water proved each day if used and a welcome plate with cookies! Rooms have robes and flip flops for you to use and I felt the bathroom could have been cleaner, I found hair on the floor when we arrived and the bathroom floor felt like it could swept again, however this was only on closer inspection other than this the room seemed clean.

Breakfast was included in our stay and is served in the restaurant which is small however I felt there was a good selection for breakfast. You can order from a menu including eggs and bacon or omelettes. Then there is a selection of cereals, juices, breads, pastries, fruit and a Thai option to choose from. We did however discover an ants nest by one of the tables.

The hotel runs a free shuttle in the evening to the night market however taxi's and tuk tuks are cheap enough and easy enough to catch. The hotel is in walking distance of local shops and temples if you fancy exploring by foot.

The staff at the hotel were so friendly and nothing was to much trouble.

The hotel is small and has a nice pool area which we used. Overall this was a nice little hotel and we would stay here again if in Chiang Mai.

The Rim is a nice smaller hotel and close to the Chiang Mai University. Staff is great and very helpful and breakfast is included with stay which offered a variety. I enjoyed my stay very much. The value was great too. I would go again.

I always like small boutique hotel, we stay in The Rim with family of 12ppl, really like the style of the hotel, staffs are friendly. But the only problem is it is not close to any 7-11 and only a few restaurant around.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Rim. The location is excellent close to Wat Prah Singh and the moat. The room is very spacious and well decorated. It I is very clean and by the pool. We love this place very much. The Canal resteraunt is reasonably priced and with very good food and service.

Room Tip: Dhaka superior will be very good.

We stayed at The Rim for 5 nights in a poolside double room, with our twin girls, the rooms were large enough for the four of us, the rooms were furnished with lovely Thai furnishings. The architecture of The Rim is traditional Thai Lanna and is absolutely stunning from the street and throughout the complex. The pool area is clean and well kept. The Rim is only a short Tuk Tuk ride to the famous Chiang Mai night markets. The hotel is located on the old city canal. Lane way next door is handy to access local laundry. Breakfast at the hotel was great, food and breakfast room was well presented. Reception, housekeeping and restaurant staff were all great.
