This hotel will exceed your expectations from start to finish. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff (who speak excellent English) and delicious drinks! The rooms are very spacious and have interesting architectural additions that will surprise you, such a sliding bathroom doors and mirrors. Everything is very modern and clean, the air conditioning works perfectly. If you like the small details you will love this hotel - you can control all the lights and music and air conditioning from your bedside table! It is well located, a short walk from the night bazaar and they will happily arrange trips for you. Not that you need to leave the hotel because the spa is luxurious and well priced. This is perfect for those who want to chill out. I went with friends but I think it would also be very romantic for couples. Give it a try, I think no matter how fussy you are you will not be disappointed.

I stayed with 4 friends in De Chai for a four day stay and it was heaven. I would reccommend it to families and couples and a group of friends wanting a relaxing and spoiling stay in the up-market backpacker area of Chiang Mai. There is an extraordinary spa downstairs and delicious food and it is walking distance from many more places to wine and dine. They also offer brilliant day trips with generous discounts for groups. The staff are helpful and jolly and we were greeted by the owner personally who asked how we found everything. It is not for party people but a spoiling and luxurious boutique hotel which is relaxed and unpretentious - you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: We had deluxe but I am sure they are all

Very nice boutique hotel, walking distance to the night bazaar. Staff at hotel were more than accommodating (extremely helpful). The hotel is clean. The rooms are very nice and spacious. Breakfast was ok. The common amenities were ok. No fitness room and the pool is just ok.

Even though the parking is not located in the hotel, staff will take care of your car for you. Room is big and clean with a city view. It is a non-smoking hotel, and they fine you for doing so in the room. Small indoor pool but no children pool. Staffs are very nice as they offer to take care of my brothers who are swimming while i go for a spa. Breakfast is nothing more than the ordinary. Hotel is located in small road, quite hard to find. it is not far from night bazaar, just a few minutes walk.

Loved this hotel, the rooms were clean and spacious. Bed was comfy and big. Recieved a lovely pandan tea on arrival :)

Area is good, it's down a quiet laneway. We hired a scooter from a lady down the lane for 200 baht, which was great as it allowed us to explore Chiang Mai properly.

Pros: location, staff, rooms, the spa downstairs was amazing
Cons: breakfast a bit poor, airconditioning a bit noisy.

We stayed at the De Chai for 6 nights at the beginning of November. Originally, we had not planned on coming to Chiang Mai but due to the flooding in Bangkok, our plans were changed and our travel agent found this hotel for us. We were not disappointed. The hotel is a quick taxi ride from the airport - 120 TB. The hotel is very new, modern and very clean. We were greeted warmly by the staff when we arrived and given a cool drink. Our bags were brought up to the room and we were shown how everything in the room worked.
The location is excellent - just a short walk to the main road and the entrance to the Old Town and also about a 10 minute walk to the Night Market. We used the spa twice - very reasonable prices and the atmosphere was pleasant. Everyday, we started our the day with their great breakfast buffet. There were lots of choices in the buffet plus you could order eggs, pancakes, French toast, omelets, bacon and sausage. We found the serving sizes were a bit small for these items but you could ask them to give you more eggs, or bacon, etc. They were very willing to customize your order as we always wanted our bacon crispy - something that Thai restaurants generally don't prepare their bacon like. The server was excellent and remembered us each day and knew what we preferred. We never ate dinner or lunch at the restaurant - in fact, I never recall seeing anyone eating there.
The hotel has their own shuttle van to return guests to the airport. It is 200 TB and is worth the extra charge compared to the taxi we used from the airport. It was large and luxurious.
We had an excellent stay at De Chai and would recommend it to others.
