“Wonderful resort in the middle of nowhere”
Reviewed 31 July 2011

The resort was quite a long way outside Chiang Mai, essentially in the middle of the rainforest. The location was spectacular but if you are looking for nightlife, it is definitely not a good choice. On the other hand, if you're looking to be in direct contact with the natural environment a long way from any kind of urbanity, this is just the place for you.

The resort itself consists of bungalows surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens with tropical plants and flowers (and of course the associated animals - especially insects!). The bungalows were extremely comfortable and clean, with walk-in showers and basically all the Western mod-cons you could possibly need. However, according to the resort's management, their concept is environmentally sustainable - so apparently the impact on the environment is minimised as much as possible (by using recyclable materials, making the buildings energy efficient etc.). Whether this is actually true, I can't say, but I had the feeling that it was.

The main area of the resort, with the restaurant, swimming pool etc., was very attractive and welcoming. Customer service shown by the staff was impeccable and they were very helpful. The food was excellent - much of it was authentically Thai and not some kind of Western-style generic "Asian" food that you often find at other tourist resorts or restaurants in Thailand (from my experience). Food is an important part of any stay for me, so I was happy about that.

All in all, I can recommend the resort for a couple of days to get away from it all, or perhaps longer if you have a hire car and want to travel around the area. I was there as part of a tour group, so I don't know what activities are available. I would imagine hiking in the area would be very rewarding, the scenery is absolutely wonderful.

In our journey across Thailand we stay in a lot of hotels but never seen something like this. The owner Taen and his wife build a paradise with a lot of comfort and place to relax. The pool area is awesome and also the new build bungalows bring al the comfort you need (flat tv, air condition, great shower and a lot of space). Its a perfect place if you love some tropical garden and wild animals. (I hear sounds in the night from animals I never known before). Also some Golf courts are around so you can join your favorite sport.
The Team (including Taen and his Wife) are awesome and the breakfast and BBQ buffet they provide has a high quality and you feel a bit like at home. Thanks for the great time.

Room Tip: All bungalows are awesome.
