We chose this hotel, as we was going on an early flight out of Chiang Mai.
We really liked the style of the hotel, which is build in wood and reminds a little of the old Thai style.
When you have checked in, you are asked to step out of your shoes and use the slippers that the hotel provides you.
Even though you can see the busy roads of Chiang Mai, it still felt very quite.
The staff was very warm and welcoming, and we recommend this hotel to others.
The only minus was, that it was not very central, if you want to be near the night market and other attractions of CM.

We booked our room because we were leaving the next day and it was close to the airport. We didn't expect the charm and warm feeling we found. We were very happy and will return often. For us its very convenient and close to the Airport Mall (we walked) and Rimping Market. The place itself had the warm feeling of Northern Thailand, with the wood and openness typical of Northern Thai houses.
We live in Northern Thailand and Chiang Mai is where we go for entertainment and buy special groceries. For us the location is perfect. I can't wait for our next trip and stay.
My wife is Thai and has very high standards especially cleanliness and service. I have a graduate degree from a top University in Bangkok and speak Thai well. Our professions in the USA were both highly customer service oriented. We found the perfect place to return and bring our friends.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. We stayed on the ground floor and I could open the door and slip into the pool.

To stay in this hotel is like to stay in a big family. This little hotel close to the airport is a wondetful traditional thai house in tek. Just few Rooms here but fully furnished and very clean and with air conditioned fridge free drinkable water and coffee. People in reception are very helpful and often they bring you in the city center or where you ask to go. Breafast is international but you can ask which you like they will try to make you happy. A special thanks for the family that manage this hotel and all people that work here. They are excellent. They speak english very well so easy to receive info by them. You can enjoy also a swimmimg pool that is little but very nice. Inside also a whirlpool that after one day around the city is really a pleasure. Well i will come back here i hope very soon.

We have stayed in this hotel for three nights during our two week trip around Thailand.
The only two downs were that the place is a bit way from the center, and that you have to choode your breakfast option already in the evening for tomorrow morning.
The rest was just great. The room exceptionally clean. The swimming pool very nice. The staff very helpful, organised everything what we were asking for.
In general very good impression.

The hotel itself its nice and clean, although taking shoes every time to go to the room and back can get bit annoying. We knew it was further away from the city, it wasn't as bad but next time we would choose something closer as you loose time in the transport or just get lazy to go anywhere. We were very disappointed with the breakfast, as we read many very good reviews, our expectations were high. First, picking it a night before is strange, how am I suppose to know what I want to eat tomorrow? Second, the food was mediocre, fruit salad from a can, one piece of bacon and cold ham with eggs. But most of all, we requested to have it in our room and had it refused, reason? Upstair rooms with balcony cannot have breakfast served in the room. It just made no sense. After first two days we preferred to eat breakfast outside in the city.
The water in the pool was freezing, not even refreshing. My husband couldn't even go in. The water in the shower had a really bad pressure and temperature was changing every two seconds.
The view from the upstairs rooms is to a highway, so not very nice, get a room by the pool if you can.
The airport pick up is great, but it only runs during the day. We had to get a taxi at 4:30am to go to the airport and was 300B for 5 minutes, that normally cost around 50! The hospitality of the staff was good, some of them didn't understand/spoke well English but could manage. On the first day they took us for free to the city centre and showed where to have lunch.

Room Tip: lower ground rooms, with access to the pool

This is a perfect hotel in chiang mai. if you want an authentic smaller thai hospitality hotel then this is for you. our room was really beautiful old teak lanna style we requested the four poster bed with the net and they gave it to us it was really romantic. we had a great balcony overlooking the pool, wifi was great and staff were friendly. its easy enough to get a tuk tuk or red bus into town and its about a 10-15 min ride. We didnt mind as we would come back in the atfernoon for a swim and rest and then go out again at night. the only thing i could pick on is the bacon at breafkast was always cold but it was really nice to go down and have a cooked breakfast by the pool. would definlty recommend this hotel it was lovley and my boyfriend and i couldnt not have asked for more.

Fantastic boutique guest house. They obviously pride themselves on their cleanliness, rooms were immaculate as was the rest of the guest house (even the toilet in reception was spotless!). Really friendly, polite staff who really look after their guests. One member offered me mossie spray while waiting to be picked up for the airport as she could see i was being eaten alive!

Yes the hotel is outside the old town, i paid no more than 100BHT to get into the main town and for some people this seems to be a deal breaker but not for me. It was so nice to get back from a day of sightseeing to a really relaxed place and jump in the pool to cool off. I vaguely heard one flight take off in my 6 day stay so don't be worried about the close proximity to the airport, you really can't hear the planes and this comes from someone with super sensitive hearing.

Rooms were spacious (I had a second floor room overlooking the pool), a TV and good strength WIFI throughout the hotel. I will definitely consider Baan U Sabai when i next return to Chaing Mai.

P.S. Don't forget to request the free airport pickup and drop off.
