The hotel itself is very new and modern and all of the staff are extremely courteous and friendly.Generally the level of the service provided by the hotel was good.Infrastructure was rather new and condition of amenities was thus good. The hotel staff provided service and informations about the hotel and service like shuttle bus time , restaurant , swimmimg pool , spa service and prohibit rules . The room was vey clean and tidy and full of moroccan style decoration. The welcome snack prepared in room when arriving the room. The room also contain big screen LCDTV and DVD player with cable TV for entertainment. The location is very easy to reach to the city or shopping malls and the hotel provide shuttle van service for all guests.I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be back again.

Spent 6 nights (low season) at this hotel with my mom and we are so pleased with its environment and services.

Accessibility: located near the Ping River bank, 10-min from downtown. Not a very convenient location but a quiet place to stay. Free one way shuttle bus everyday to Warorot Market, Thapae Gate (Downtown) and Night Baazar (weekdays)/ Sun&Sat walking streets (weekends), but you have to get back to hotel on your own, so be sure to get a map from the hotel. 10-min walk to the 7-11 if you need to get some snacks. We are delighted to find a nice organic green restaurant 'Happy Green' nearby, they offer super fresh veggies and fruits.

Room & facilities: stayed at 309, it's spacious and beautifully decorated, and so as the whole hotel indeed. The balcony is also lovely viewing the river and the swimming pool. There are 2 swimming pools and gym center next to the larger one. We love the large salt water swimming pool so much. I'm easily allergic to pool water but not this time, so I bet the water is relatively clean. They even cover the sun loungers at night, wow, the details count. But we didn't try the spa & massage center tho.

Restaurant: only 1 restaurant in the hotel and offer all you can eat breakfast, not a buffet but you can order whatever in the menu. They made good coffee and the breakfast is nice. Sometimes when we order just 1 or 2 things, they will double the portion xoxoxo

Staff: generally friendly and helpful, especially the lovely couple, Noam and Dow. Noam told us a lot about Chiang Mai and recommended places for us to visit; Dow cleaned up our rooms attending great details. My mom is very demanding on room cleaning, but she's so satisfied with the ways Dow did. Also waitresses at the restaurant are always diligent and attentive compared to the waiters, we are well served by the 2 smiley girls at breakfast.

Room Tip: goes with those with balconies, worth the money

Stunning tropical garden leading to a large salt water swimming pool next to a huge free gym for guests. Added bonus of a Massage centre and a free shuttle to the Night Market, however you need to get back on your own , do take a map for the Taxi. The rooms and decor are impressive , and for the class the off season prices are too good to miss as a break for peace and quite away from the noisy city. Ten minute drive to the Night Market and close to the airport. Staff are attentive and will help as far as they can. Breakfast o.k. , as it was quite season difficult to offer a large menu.

Room Tip: The larger expensive rooms only have a seperate shower , small kitchenette, and a little larger . All rooms have a bath.

Stay at the Room 309 during Chiangmai short visit last week

I said "Woww!!!" after getting into my room
The room is so elegant so lovely and well decorated. The view of River Ping from my window is beautiful.

Moroccan Style Boutique Hotel in the North of Thailand, at first, sounds a bit strange to me. But, I found that the ground is really attractive and cosy. So many great photo spots in the hotel from front desk and lobby, the garden, pool, restaurant, to in-room. This is one of the best "Spa Exotic Resort," in Chiangmai that I highly recommend.

The services that I got here, is First-Class services. Every staff is polite, friendly, and very helpful, especially Mr. Aum (front desk), a very nice guest service officer. I am quite surprised after read some reviews comment about bad services he/she recieved, because I didn't feel any lack of service at all.

Breakfast is OK too in my opinion. Because this hotel has only a few guests during low season, I can choose any kind of breakfast from menu, then they cook and serve right away. And, because no other guest, we took over the whole restaurant ;)

The location is about 1 kilomertres off main road. Although the hotel offer free shutter bus to several attractions, it's better to have your own vehicle, a car or motorbike. Although Sheik Istana is not located on prime tourist location like Night Market or the Old City, but on the bank of Ping River give you more relaxing and quiet atmosphere.

THE BUILDING AND GARDEN LOOKS LOVELY however service is non existant. Miles out of town , only one shuttle a day, worst breakfast ever in Asia, no buffet, absolutely tastless so called Moroccan breakfast with no flavouring at all unless you want to put heinz chili sauce on it.Plastic jam, cardboard croissants and canned music. The internet took 5 hours to connect, had to ask 3 times for room to be cleaned, water in pool was very cloudy but told due to heavy rain and was ok to swim in. HUGE TV but no channels because of a coup so nt much use. No nearby facilities shops or visible places to eat found on our short stroll .Decor is quite ok and bed is comfortable, good bathroom, nice to have a bath for a change. ITS NOT CHEAP and feels abandoned, only appeared to be one other guest at breakfast...we had thought this would be a bit of luxury...only thing we enjoyed was a complimentary thai massage when we arrived. It is quiet and view onto river is pleasant enough...can see it has potential if it had guests,, was better managed and got a chef and more sevice and definely more shuttle option offered being so far out of town.

Room Tip: Superior room adequate, all have good views, more expensive rooms just bigger and seperate shower.
