Munee (owner, who lives with her family in this well kept older home) and Noot, her helper, couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. "Come, sit down, tell me what you want to do." No pressure to take any tours, no prodding to do this or that, only kind assistance to see and do what we wanted.Only 7 rooms for rent, so everyone can get the help they need. Delightful small resturant is part of 7 senses. The chef is very good and shows his delight that you enjoy his food. Locals come in for meals since the food is so delicious and prices are so reasonable. This is not a shiny new luxo hotel. This a woman's home who takes pride in making you at home in Chiang Mai.The location is ideal too. Not in the middle of the old city, but a few blocks outside it.

Room Tip: The bigger (more expensive) rooms have open air showers, lovely.

This small guesthouse is a little gem. The hostess (owner) was so helpful to book excursions and anything else we needed Having breakfast in the little garden with the koi pond was lovely.
The rooms were original and clean. The location outside the old city was convenient, but we preferred staying the int walled city . We would definitely recommend seven Senses. Our bathroom was open air and we could hear the rooster who crowed not only in the morning but all day.... but you get used to it.

We stayed at Seven Senses for three nights, would have stayed longer... or moved in! We had a great room with open air bathroom and shower. The hospitality is spotless, and the hotel staff goes to any length to make sure you can navigate the city and see what you are interested in in the easiest and more convenient way. They booked for us a last minute elephant camp trip which was unforgettable and woke up at 5 am to see us off. Breakfast was impressive and we got teas and fruit juices whenever we popped in in the afternoon in between visits. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here with the husband for 2 nights in late December 2013.

Pros:
- One thing that you get at Seven Senses is great hospitality. It shows in little things - the room key chain has a tiny printout of hotel address in thai, the chef will remember you don't salad much, and the hostess will get your breakfast packed if you are running late for a day trip.
- While it is not in the walled city, it is very close to it.
- Seven senses has it's own little restaurant/cafe with good food.

Cons:
- We stayed in the honeymoon suite and our bathroom was open air. I guess it was supposed to add to the experience, but it was fairly chilly.

Was overall very comfy and had all we could wish for. Would definitely stay here again, if only for the good hospitality and the charming little cafe-restaurant.

The rooms are lovely, breakfast was good and the people are sweet but it unfortunately failed in a few key areas.

Reception: whilst there, the reception was mostly manned by a young girl who was very nice but her English was limited and we found it hard to get any information about Chiang Mai from her.

Ambience: it was Christmas and carols are sweet but they played the same 3 songs on repeat which sent us a bit mad. We could also hear it in our room until they turned it off quite late.

Not the fault of the guesthouse but there are a couple of crazy roosters nearby which crow constantly and in the middle of the night. Easily audible from the rooms we stayed in.

Hot water: having slept in a hut the night before, we arrived to a lovely room with a bath only to find the water was only luke warm and they could not fix it. Very disappointing.

We really wanted to give this place a good review but unfortunately it just didn't live up to expectations. As some have already said, you can get more for a lot less in the old town.

Sorry but I do not understand why this guesthouse has such a high rating. Yes it is a boutique guesthouse but for the price and location there are better options closer to town.

The service is very good and the chef is super sweet. Food is very good too.

Maybe best to check it out before booking.

Recently stayed for a couple of nights in the 'Pai' room. Small, but sufficient for a single. Mattress is very firm. Tastefully decorated with small touches that gave it a homely feel. In fact, the whole guesthouse is like that. Concept of the outdoor shower/bath is quaint.

From the beginning, the staff were hospitable, and always remembered my name. It's the little things that stand out for me. For breakfast, the day before you put your order in, and when you sit at the table, it's freshly made for you. And very tasty too. After returning to the guesthouse, the staff would quickly bring out a cool drink - unsure of what it was, but some purple concoction. Even when I went to my room straightaway after returning, one of the staff knocked on my door with the drink!

Having never been to Chiang Mai before, I was unsure how the guesthouse rate for location. It's in the north-east corner, just outside of the old town. The guesthouse is located in a quiet spot, where traffic noise is not an issue. It's about 150m away from the main northern road of town, and within 5 mins of the shopping centre. It's located within a nice part of town. If you're wanting to head to the Night Bazaar, a tuk-tuk or songthaew ride would be recommended. It took me about 20 mins to walk from the guesthouse to Tha Pae Gate, as a guide. And if you're looking for a good massage, head to Cheeva Spa, being within 30m of Seven Senses. Best spa treatment I've had in S-E Asia.

It was reviews from TA that made me choose this guesthouse, and I can see why. Highly recommend, and would be happy to stay there again.
