My husband and I spent 4 nights at 137 Pillars House and our stay was really great as I hoped!

The hotel is well placed (just 10 minutes from the city center by tul tuk or taxi), the atmosphere is relaxing and all the staff was helpful and kind with us and speaks a good English.

Our suite was beautifully and gracefully furnished: bed and pillows were confortable, the bathroom really spacious.

The first evening we had dinner at the Restaurant Palette: food was very good. We absolutely reccommned it!

We spent 3 days at Pillars to celebrate our 10th anniversary and it was well worth it! The staff could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable and the hotel grounds was an oasis from the city--beautifically manuicured and very peaceful. The villas were very well decorated, comfortable and cozy and the bathroom suite was gorgeous. We used the spa services, and while a little pricey, it was well worth it. The only improvement I would recommend is the availability of consistent wi-fi. Connecting to wi-fi was sometimes difficult and we would have to frequently re-connect. However aside from that, this is THE place to stay if you are in Chiang Mai.

The hotel is gorgeous, one of the most tastefully furnished places we stayed in on this trip. The grounds are beautiful, atmosphere is restful. Service was superb, food was very good. We have no complaints and really enjoyed our stay. The location was good, within walking distance of the old town and shopping areas, as well as other lively restaurants along the river.

This was my 2nd stay at the hotel and my comments echo those from my first trip - it is not often that a hotel makes you say 'wow'...this is one of those hotels. The architecture / design / decor are simply spectacular and great attention has been paid to the quality of the finishes - a real labour of love. The hotel is unique, with traditional elements (old teak buildings / white colonial facades etc). And the rooms themselves are amazing - spacious and so well interior designed (huge bathrooms / dressing areas and nice balcony areas). If you consider the Four Seasons / Aman as the height of luxury when it comes to hotels, then the rooms here are as good if not better than Four Seasons quality. Service is highly personal and friendly. Location is walking distance to some cute stores / galleries and the river. The one slight negative aspect was the quality of the dinner we had - it was really rather poor and we didn't even end up having a main course due to service confusion and our thoughts on the poor quality starters. However, the room service tom yum soup we had ordered for lunch one day was amazing. Overall, a great hotel.

This a magnificent boutique hotel. Beautiful grounds, pool and beautiful suites. it is in some ways reminiscent of Raffles. Highly personable service and excellent breakfast and evening dining. Walking access to restaurants and clubs along the river, and no more than 80 Baht by tuk tuk from the centre of town. It is one of the most relaxing and sumptuous resort style hotels you will find anywhere. Highly recommended without any hesitation. Will certainly stay here again on any return trip to Chiangmai. This is the type of hotel that, just by itself, would entice you back again - and that's a rarity.

An exquisite hotel, with great facilities and in a wonderful location. However, there are many hotels that you can make that claim about - only a very few deliver it with such remarkable focus on customer service - delivered unobtrusively, almost so that you don't recognise it is happening except when you reflect that your every need has been met.

Great suites, their layout and facilities are really good and distinctively decorated in a subtle way that supports the relaxed vibe without ever being anything other than smart.

Excellent food, really good wine list, well mixed cocktails - all served in a beautiful old house that simply oozes with history.

This is a five star property, and I have rated it on that basis - it is still outstanding, even when compared with other five stars I have stayed in across the region

Room Tip: All rooms are outstanding, don't worry which you choose.

We enjoyed staying at Pillar House. The rooms are comfortable. Excellent service.

The guide for the two trips was not knowledgeable about the sites in detail. Need better guides.

Food better at other locations. Breakfast was excellent.

Love the grounds and hospitality.
