“Beautiful place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2014

We have just spend three nights at this little oasis in the middel of Chiang Mai. Truly beautiful hotel with great rooms with a beautiful terrace, a nice and very relaxing pool area and a beautifully set garden. Feels like a wonderland at night, very romantic!
The staff is really nice and very helpful.
The only truly negative point is food. While breakfast is really nice, we cannot recommend to have lunch and dinner at the hotel. We had lunch twice and dinner once but were disappointed each time. That is not so bad though because there are quite many nice restaurants right around the corner at the lake.
Truly a terrific place to stay!

My wife and I stayed at 137 Pillars House for a luxurious 5 days and would have stayed more if we weren't traveling. My wife luxuriated in the property while I explored the quaint side streets of Chiang Mai during the day. She loved the pool. We both loved the service and the people were delightful and most helpful. We would not hesitate to return and stay even longer next time, knowing that this little bit of heaven exists in the bustling city of Chiang Mai.

My husband and I recently stayed at 137 Pillars House for 3 nights and we wanted to stay forever! The staff is amazing, decor and design are flawless and the location is quiet but pretty close to the main attractions, especially if you like to walk as my husband and I do. The owners of this property really thought through every detail and the staff takes a lot of pride in that. My husband and I got a first floor room and requested something with more privacy and the staff happily accommodated our request and moved us right away to a second floor room. The outdoor shower and huge claw foot bathtub was probably my favorite part of the massive room, but the bed was super soft and comfy too! We went to the spa and that was also amazing! Breakfast was huge and the chefs were happy to make any type of eggs. I loved that there were some fresh greens sautéed as well as the usual breakfast fare. The gym is also great, it's small but has everything we needed to work off all the great food we ate. My only recommendations would be adding a water cooler in the gym and more chairs by the gorgeous pool. One more suggestion to guests, at happy hour you have to try the watermelon mojito, totally amazing!

Room Tip: Request something close to the pool or restaurant, we were right by the main entrance and it could g...

A delightful hotel with very helpful staff. We spent time in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai as well as Bangkok. This hotel is a must when staying in Chiang Mai. The setting is magnificent and the staff could not be more accommodating.

There are places you dont need to write much about simply because they are great. This hotel is one of those! Everyone has been tremendously friendly and helpful, organised tours and program all perfect, zero complaint. Plus it has a sensational chef in the restaurant, Sek! To me the best meal in town! Highly recommendable, but for a selected few only!

Staying at the 137 Pillars is to step back in time and enjoy an other worldliness. From the moment we arrived, we were showered with warm hospitality, great service, attention to detail and a wholly wonderful stay. I highly recommed staying here.
Although it is a little way from the centre of the city, it is surrounded by interesting shopping and eateries, all of which are detailed on their website. The high tea served in the afternoon is second to none as clearly the chef is both masterful and talented. Creativity, in fact, accompanied us through all our meals at the 137 Pillars with the dessert menu being amongst the very best. Stayng at the 137 Pillars is a treat not to be missed.

We really enjoyed this hotel. Each individual bungalow is luxurious as well as functional. The outdoor shower is a nice touch as is the outdoor seating area. Breakfast was good, not great. The property is beautiful We never had time to use the pool, but it looks fantastic. Public spaces are all secluded and well kept. The hotel is close to a number of restaurants/bars...maybe a 2-3 minute walk, and a 10-15 minute walk gets you to the night market. Take a tuk tuk to the old city, but have the hotel negotiate the price for you...generally around 100 B.
In summary, this is a luxury hotel, that feels secluded from the city, yet is very close to the city. Perfect for us.
