I stayed 3 nights at the dozy house. It's situated in the old town of Chiang Mai but it's a bit out of the way from most of the places to be. It's just a 15-20 min walk away tho'. I would say it's not the best place to be if you are travelling by yourself cause it's not a very social place. It's nice for couples or guys who travel together but I would prefer a hostel to meet people if you are just by yourself. Anyways - the staff is really helpful and friendly (especially regarding tour&activity bookings). The rooms are airconditioned and clean and come with an ensuite bathroom and a tv. Furthermore free breakfast (toast, jam, tee&coffee) is provided the entire day 24/7. It's really quite at night and I had a pleasant stay. The price for a doublebed-room was 850 B/night.

We had arrived in Chiang Mai with a basic idea of what we wanted to do, but nothing set in stone. After coming from the train station and checking in, Gina was extremely helpful in giving recommendations for things to do, places to go with, etc. She even called and helped us inquire about group rates and discounts and answered all one million of our questions. We booked the 6 bed mixed dorm, and the rooms were simple and clean, and definitely quiet at night. Another plus is that you can make your own breakfast in the morning (toast, coffee, tea were free, eggs had a small charge). They can also arrange for a car service to the train station.

Location-wise, this was a bit far from the nightlife area (bars and bazaar both), but you could easily walk to the main street and find a songthaew to rent.

Overall, would definitely recommend this place!

First off we have never stayed in less than a 4* hotel when doing any travels but tried this after all of the great reviews so this was a pleasant first and will be hard to live up to.... we arranged through hotel to be picked up from our flight for 120 baht... arrived at the hotel and was warmly greeted and given the run down.... before we retired to our rooms Gina made sure that if we wanted to do any activities or attractions that we knew our choices and values which was great and as it turns out she makes nothing over what they charge direct to do this she simply does it to make sure your stay in chiang mai over all is great. We also arrange airport car back to the airport with her and really her and her family made our whole chiang mai experience WONDERFUL

Room Tip: i think all of the rooms get the noise from the school next door... which is ok because who wants to...

Gina, the owner is so friendly and helpful, and all the staff is reason enough to book accommodation at Dozy House. I stayed four nights in a private room. The rooms are reasonably priced, very clean, and nicely decorated. I really liked the downstairs breakfast and lobby area. It was a nice place to relax, and the free wi-fi worked great. The guesthouse offers airport pick-up and bike rentals. They also will book any tours that you may want to take. I really liked staying here. The only downside is the location is farther from the night bazaar or main nightlife area, but everything in Chiang Mai is walkable so it's really not a problem.

Room was quite basic but clean and quiet. Lots of closet and shelf space. Laundry service was very good and reasonably priced. WiFi worked for the whole week we were there. Gina, at front desk, was extremely helpful and friendly. A family-run establishment that aims to please. This place is a bargain.

This guesthouse is without a doubt the BEST place to stay in Thailand. The owner and her staff are extremely friendly and gracious. They go out of their way to make your stay absolutely perfect. The rooms itself are modern and sterile. The beds are so comfy and the sheets are spotless and enjoyable to be in. The internet was a great plus as well as the cable tv. The access to the kitchen was so nice to have and the fact that there is always fruit, tea, coffee, and bread to eat complimentary just shows how much the owner cares about her establishment. This guesthouse is so well run that I don't know how anyone could ever say anything bad about it. My boyfriend, John, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back in the future. Thank you so much for giving us a home away from home.

A great hostel run by the fantastically friendly and helpful Gina & family. We stayed in double rooms on the top floor, which were huge, with plenty of storage, TV (never used) A/C and ensuite shower room. The beds were fine and the rooms spotlessly cleaned. The only slight point and not one they can do anything about, is that it can be a little noisy in the mornings with the local cockerel and a school next door, don't worry you'll either sleep through it or take some ear plugs!!
On the ground floor is a kitchen area with free tea, coffee, bread/toast and fruit from Ginas friends garden, and a lobby area for sitting and chatting or having a drink (alcoholic or not) from the cheap well stocked honesty bar.
The location is fine, not in the noisy busy part of town, but only a 10 min walk to the livelier area or a 5 min tuktuk to the night market area.
Get advice from Gina on places to go, she is very helpful and can arrange trips, hire you a bike or scooters at a minutes notice and really cheap.
