My wife and I own a well known Thai restaurant in Bangkok, so you can imagine that we find it difficult sometimes finding a place to eat Thai food that measures up for us in terms of quality and service. The Good View was recommended by our taxi driver as is usual and is located right on the river just outside the old city. It is a huge place with 3 kitchens and was almost packed when we arrived. The tables are large, the menu is extensive, the prices are reasonable and the food was excellent. The service was not exceptional, but really quite good for a place of that size and that busy. They have a band playing soft rock at the front of the house with a good sized bar there as well. All in all the experience was good enough that we went back the next night. The only negative I can really comment on is the poor, poor lighting. So dark that we had to use our cell phone flashlights to read the menu. Well worth the visit if you are in Chiang Mai.
