Myself and a friend stayed in the hotel from 2nd November for 9 nights, we were very happy with our rooms, plenty of free bottled water, tea and coffee. location was unbeatable, straight out of the lobby into night bazzar , Anusarn Market ,and great places close by to eat at. 5 minute walk to the river. Breakfast was huge with a great selection and a chef to prepare eggs, pancakes ect. All the staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Pool and gym are a bit dated, however they are clean. Our rooms were right at the front facing onto the street which we thought would be quite noisy, but as the windows appear to be double glazed this wasn't a problem for us. Internet was very reasonably priced . Would definatley stay here again.

The Royal Princess was a hotel we used as a base for our more adventurous activites around northern Thailand. The hotel was just what we needed. Clean, great breakfast, comfortable bed and a top notch concierge service. We arrived in Chiang Mai after a very long flight and simply crashed in our room without even looking at the hotel. When we woke up, we went down to find that breakfast was almost over. The buffet looked great and we were trying to load up quickly. The staff told us to relax, they would leave items we desired out and pick them up last. We worked with the concierge to find a relaxing tour around the city that first day. He recommended a tour that fit the bill nicely and we didn't feel pushed at all while still seeing a lot.
We then left for our 4 day trek through the villages and the hotel kept all our luggage in storage for our return. We arrived back for a night before heading out on our next adventure and again we stored our luggage until we came back.
Upon our return, we attended the conference that was the original intention of the trip. For the next week, the hotel wowed us all with smooth running conference with spectacular food. The concierge desk continued to provide excellent recommendations on short trips, often telling us how to get there ourselves to avoid the guided tours. They were amazing with other conference attendees, providing suggested itineraries for vacations in other parts of Thailand at the end of the conference. People who booked rooms elsewhere were not as pleased with their staff.
We are far more of the "go it on your own, rustic accomodations" type people when travellign but are glad in this case we decided to go more mainstream on this business trip.

We stayed from the 6/11 to 11/11. The location was perfect, can't take anything away from the hotel for that. Rite next to shopping complex and plenty of restaurants near by. The room we stayed in tho left a lot to be desired as it was dated and had the view of a building site but 5m away, thus anyone working could see rite into the room unless the curtains were closed.
Whilst the pool area was never busy, on a couple of occasions we felt very uncomfortable and almost as if we were in the way when maintenance men were painting around where we were and the stairs around the pool.
Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice.
Our driver on the transfer to and from the hotel was very helpful.
Reception staff were very helpful with booking tours and suggesting places to eat.
Overall this hotel is more of a base than a homely hotel. Although the staff try their hardest to make it feel so.

We were upgraded from the room we had booked (on short notice for the Loi Krathong festival). Service was wonderful as were the staff. The hotel was in the middle of the night bazaar and next to plenty of 24 hour fast food for the late night crowd.
I'm sure there are cheaper rooms around but I have no complaints, got more than what I paid for.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Started off good with an automatic upgrade to executive suite for no reason. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good. Swimming pool and gym a little dated, but suffice. Excellent hotel for what we paid.

This Hotel is really great. Step out of the lobby and on to the street and you are right in the middle of the 'night markets'. 50 paces down the road and grab a latte from Starbucks and 2 metres further on sit down in a beer garden and enjoy the coffee and after that have a beer and something to eat while watching the life all around you. All the beautiful staff make you feel like royalty and nothing is too much trouble, their english is understandable, they are able to fix anything and their grace is unbelievable. The sumptuous lobby has a tour desk with excellent staff and can arrange tours everywhere cheaply with english speaking guides and great cars with aircon.Internet is available in room or in a couched area in the lobby. Rooms are very comfortable and large and the breakfast is 'to die for'. I have stayed there twice now and will again next year, I feel like the staff are like family, I was just that comfortable.

Stayed in this hotel in January and was very pleased with staff. hotel was clean large room, ample water and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was a joy, fresh food and juices. nice lobby and toileteries were great. i should have been picked from the airport but the driver was at the international arrivals whilst i was waiting at the domestic arrival. mistake by airpot staff. took a taxi to the hotel and the manager apologised and upgraded me to an executive deluxe room on the 7th floor. great views. room cleaned everyday and everything replenished. hotel great location as its easy to do shopping, massage parlour next doorl, kfc and macdonalds opposite, lots of other eateries serving fresh food around. amporn tours at the end of the road, booked all my trips from them and got discount. for a 3star its very good value for money. returning soon to the same hotel.
