“Eh, you could stay in better”
Reviewed 25 March 2014

This hotel was nice enough, and the price was right, but it was clearly an older hotel whose rooms had not been updated in quite some time. We stayed in another hotel a few nights earlier in Chiang Mai (for the same price), and it was much better quality and value (the DeLanna Hotel). The lobby and pool area are very beautiful, but the bathroom was pretty moldy and old. The location is ok, but it's nearer to seedier parts of Chiang Mai. The front desk was also pretty rude when we checked in. See if you can find somewhere else that's in better shape.

Had 2 nights here whilst on business trip. Very nice hotel in ideal position to see Chiang Mai centre. Room was quiet and very well appointed, Floor 15 which I think is the executive floor.
Would certainly stay here again.
One tip though, if you have an early flight dont expect to find a taxi. Hotel taxi starts at 6 am and I thought it would be easy to get something at 0430. Ended up dragging suitcase to town and found a tuktuk which was fine for me but not great if you are more than one person!

Room Tip: Go for floor 15.

Stayed here for 3 nights in March. The hotel was alright. The decoration was a little tired. It was pretty good value though for the location; I paid around 80 sgd per night. The pros- as mentioned; the good location; it was located at a quiet lane near the night market. The buffet breakfast spread was good; my parents enjoyed it alot. The waffles were especially yummy. Breakfast also started as early as 5:30 am. The bad-rooms were on the small side and mozzies were everywhere. :( the service staff I encountered were also vastly different; some were friendly; some aren't. The transport counter at the hotel was also a rip off. They charged us 300 baht to the airport when we paid only 120 baht from the aiport to the hotel? Do not engage their services! Overall, it was an alright stay considering the price point.

Dear Grace
Thank you for taking the time to post here on Trip Advisor and staying at our hotel during your recent trip to Chiang Mai. Your comments are very valuable to us and we would like to explain that anywhere in the world a "Limousine Service" is considerable more expensive than the local taxis. The taxi service at the airport charges only Baht 120 is correct, however they are not using the meter. It is the guest choice if they wish to use a taxi or a limousine. We are happy that you and your parents overall enjoyed the stay.

While the hotel has a friendly staff and a good location please never, ever accept services of the so called "Taxi" desk. Normal price by taxi to the airport is 200 Baht, however once you ask the taxi desk it will be 400-500 Baht. To add insult to injury - no one at the front desk starting with the front office manager will call you a taxi. You have to get it yourself on the street or ask the parking lot security to help you....

Hi
First of all, thank you for staying at our hotel during your recent trip to Chiang Mai together with your family and for your post here on Trip Advisor! We are pleased to read that our hotel has a friendly staff and that you liked our location. Our apologies about the "taxi and limousine" service desk misunderstanding. The sign is misleading and we have asked the tenant to have it changed to only
"limousine" service. All over the world, a limousine service is more expensive then the local taxis. In fact it was actually our bell boy who hailed a taxi from outside, as none of our cars was available. In our humble opinion, to call such an incident "a taxi desk fraud" is a bit far fetched.

We recently stayed here for 6 nights and felt it was really worth the price we paid. Worked out at less than £35 per night incl breakfast for 2.
We were picked up at the airport (charge) by the hotel . Very friendly driver in hotel uniform. Hotel only around 10 mins away.
We're impressed by the greeting of staff on arrival and the impressive lobby.
We were given the key to our room and escorted there by a member of staff. The first thing I did was check the bathroom as I'd read so many reviews on here re mould...and sure enough the mould was all around the seal of the bath and up the tiles. I rang reception and within 15 mins the showed us another room which was much better.
Yes the furniture in the room has seen better days but the comfort and the cleanliness more than made up for it.
Even though we were 8 floors up we could still here so much noise late at night from the car park below and the local bars. We asked to move to the back of the hotel overlooking the pool, which was granted, however it was still quite noisy. The windows are only single glazed .
The breakfast buffet was very nice but I was shocked and disappointed that the fruit juices were the powdered dilute stuff,so awful.
The pool area was lovely and very relaxing.
The location of this hotel was excellent. Close to all the main sights and the night bazaar started just at the end of the road.
There are a few laundry places right outside the entrance and it is very cheap .
Again transfer by hotel back to airport was fine although they charged extra to what the hotel had originally quoted as the lady on the taxi desk said it was 100 baht more as 6am was very early!
We never had any problems with mosquitoes at this hotel.

Dear Racing Queen
Thank you for choosing our hotel for your recent stay here in Chiang Mai and for your post on Trip Advisor! We do very much appreciate your detailed and well written comments. The hotel is doing a special cleaning exercise to get rid of the mould. Once a general renovation will happen, the hotel will definitely change all the windows to double glazed. We can assure you that our fruit juices on the breakfast buffet are certainly not from diluted powder. They are made from fruit concentrates.
We do look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel should you plan another trip to the North of Thailand.

This hotel was ok for the price, but it was really old and had a vagas type feel to it. I honestly was not impressed. Also the staff at check in was not friendly.

Considering we stayed at much better places in Chiang Mai on this trip for the same price, I would not recommend it.
