The Hotel is in a great location, has good service, breakfast and facilities. After a 4 night stay there this week we were extremely pleased with our stay and would stay there again.
Just found the bed rather firm/hard.
You cant go wrong with staying here.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night with our four year old during a day off from work commitments in Chiang Mai. We booked a superior room but were upgraded to a suite at check-in. Have to say, this is probably the best value for money hotel we have ever stayed at! It may not be a five star hotel in terms of luxury, but the service, amenities and location (short walk to the Night Bazaar) make it absolutely perfect for us. There are two pool areas which never feel crowded, nice grounds, and lovely staff. I do wish the beer garden area had been open, it would add an extra bit of ambience and atmosphere to the hotel, but otherwise its fantastic. Can't comment on the food as we didn't have breakfast included, but the menu looked good and if we had've been there at the right time of day, I'm sure we would have taken advantage of the two for one cocktails ;-)
Overall, we had an amazing stay, so good in fact, that I'm staying there again this week!

Room Tip: Either book the royal suite or cross your fingers for an upgrade!

I have stayed in this hotel in last January. Every thing was perfect including the breakfast in the morning was awesome, toilet a little small but clean and very nice. They do not have many electric point for charge the iPhone or computer, we were two people so 1 person have to unplug and move the refrigerator to charge the computer, i know the sign said that if you need this you have to ask at reception and it's not the big deal.

Well Imperial Mae Ping is comfortable and quite well located if you like to walk from your hotel. The food is so so but at a reasonable price. The service is nice (except in the restaurant where for some reasons they are not very welcoming, but maybe that was just unlucky during our stay). The reception staff is particularly smily and helpful. Nice place.

Wine, cheese, saxophone players..... we all know those things that get better with age! But rarely do we think that hotels get better with age! Perhpas Imperial Mae Ping is the exception? There are quite a few tired and worn out aspects of Imperial Mae Ping Hotel; people have rightly commented on the worn furnishings, less-than-sparkling bathrooms, etc. But, it seems that Imperial Mae Ping does a good job of compensating for these weaknesses of age by offering excellent and charming service, great value for money, superb location, very good food, and more.

I've stayed at this hotel for meetings many times and they do a great job with their meeting packages and support for groups. Cheerful and efficient check-in and attitude of staff. Rooms have very comfortable firm beds with nice bed linens (towels are due for replacement though!). Large flat-screen TV with reasonable channel selections, including from lots of different countries (France, China, Korea, UK, Germany, Australia, and more.

Excellent breakfast choices, including everything from healthy salads and fresh-squeezed orange juice, to piles of bacon and pancakes. Better than average brewed coffee. My only suggestion would be to include a selection of cheeses and add cheese to the inputs for omelets.

Nice gardens and excellent swimming pools, including a kids pool, large main pool and a separate secluded deeper "adult" pool on another level.

Fabulous location... walking distance from the Night Bazaar, massage shops, and dozens of good restaurants.

Because the facilities are not modern and sharp, the hotel has to offer excellent prices to remain competitive. If you can overlook some of the "wrinkles" and "lines" of old age, you'll be happy with the price and the efforts the hotel makes to overcome their handicaps.
