Stayed there for a conference last week and thought the hotel needs to move ahead with times. Rooms and services are not bad but the present look somehow transports you back in time. Food is good and staff were cordial however thought the place was a bit dingy! The lift did not work so well. Location is great for people who love the night market, the place I loved to frequent. Overall an average hotel !
Dear Alina

Counter and lobby staff are friendly and helpful to the extent of lending umbrella on certain occasion when it rained. Room was ok except for hard and high pillow that strained my neck somewhat. Breakfast were fine but need to vary the menu from day to day. Close to night market but if you want it to be at your door step then I suggest Royal princess hotel. I would consider this hotel again if I am back in Chiang Mai again
Dear Sookig
Thank you for staying with us during your time here in Chiang Mai and to have taken the time to post on Trip Advisor! Our hotel has softer pillows available on request. Actually there are daily changes on the breakfast buffet. The closeness to the night market is certainly a big advantage. Please let us know when you intend to visit the North of Thailand again and we do look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel.

Just stayed at the Mae ping and it's a good hotel with old fashion charm and service. Yes the rooms are a bit dated, but they are clean and comfortable, we loved the service, there is a doorman to open the door and say welcome, there is a man to push the elevator button for you and to say welcome. The front desk staff are very polite and helpful. Great old fashion service!!!
It's in a great location, walking distance to shops, markets and bars. Breakfasts quite good plenty of variety

Our tour guide recommended The Imperial Mae Ping Hotel during our 3 day tour in Chiang Mai, and generally I was pleased with the hotel and our stay. The rooms were spacious and clean, although the bathrooms could use updating and better cleaning as there was a lot of black mould in the tile grout.
However, the hotel lobby was beautiful and the hotel breakfast is amazing. Quite the spread of western and eastern breakfast options, including a build your own omelette/egg bar. I also liked that the hotel was located walking distance from Chiang Mai's famous night market. It was nice that we could enjoy the night market and not worry about catching a tuk tuk to a distant hotel because the Imperial Mae Ping was just down the road! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a middle of the road well priced hotel in central Chiang Mai. The hotel has security, air conditioning, elevators, a pool, en suite safes, and mini bar.

Hotel was nice, service was decent, the rooms were mediocre. Location is fantastic, right by night market and bars. Would recommend a boutique hotel over this one as it feels like a cheaper hotel in America - nothing as far as an "experience" goes
Dear Krystal
Thank you for your post here on Trip Advisor and your stay with us during your recent trip to Chiang Mai. Certainly there are many so called "boutique" hotels around at more higher price than what someone pays at our hotel.
