Very much enjoyed staying here. It's a small boutique hotel (maybe 15 rooms) decorated like an old colonial house.

The standard rooms are apparently a bit tiny; the deluxe room was quite big, with a sofa and plenty of extra space. There's a small pool on the ground floor, and free wi-fi throughout the hotel. Breakfast is pretty standard (eggs, bacon, fruit, breads, a few Asian dishes) but fresh and hot. Staff was friendly and helpful, though they don't speak much English.

Location was great -- on the northern edge of Chiang Mai's old city, a 5-10 minute walk from restaurants, temples, the night market, and most of the other main tourist attractions. It's quiet at night.

We stayed for 2nights. The location was in front of river, inside of the town, It locates in convenient place. We used bicycle for free and enjoyed morning ride. hotel interior was so beautiful and very clean and new. but room was so tiny and no place to spread suitecase. Next time We may stay more spacious place but it was great stay.

This is a great place to stay. the staff are so helpful in this authentic, teak lined, thai hotel. we had clean towels every day, swam in the gorgeous pool and relaxed to the thai muzac that drifted around the foyer. the breakfasts were great, sausage, bacon and egg plus sticky rice, dim sum, and cereal.
It's in a great position on the canal road so handy for picking up songtaws and tuk tuks but also within reach of all the temples and amenities of the old town. we cycled around the alleyways and lanes on our borrowed bikes. The staff booked all the courses and treks we wanted to do and sorte us out any taxis we might need. We would love to go back. It was a lot cheaper than many hotels and felt really luxurious. Lovely artwork and carvings around the place too.

We based our decision to stay at the Rich Lanna on the glowing reports of other travellers and now we add ours to theirs. We booked through Agoda, and arranged a pick up at the airport as the hotel is new and we were not sure all drivers would know its location.
The quality of everything in this hotel is what you might expect from a more expensive hotel and the service is fantastic. A real plus is the taste shown in the design, check of colours, and objects large and small, from wood carvings to paintings. The pool is small but really clean and each time I used it I had it to myself.
We saw a hotel or two where others were staying and for us, the Rich Lanna was far superior.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter and those on the front look over the moat to the new part of the city.

We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful hotel in an excellent location in the old city. Close to many temples and easy walk to the river and markets. There is a lot to do in CM, but it was difficult just leaving the Rich Lanna every morning and not just staying to enjoy their pool. Small, but in a gorgeous and relaxing setting.
The breakfast was the same each morning with typical 'western style' options which we enjoyed. The staff was incredibly accommodating, helpful and eager to please. English was not an issue and they were happy to help us book a few activities in the city. We were amazed to find out that they have only been open a month based on how smoothly it operates.
Despite everything being terrific, the standout to us was the room! We stayed in a medium suite which was plenty big enough with absolutely gorgeous decor. It was clean and everything felt brand new - which it essentially is.

Great stay and we would recommend to anyone looking for an upscale yet affordable place to stay in Chaing Mai!
