Spent Christmas at the Empress for the first time but had to come back on the 27th december, Next year we will be stopping longer , It was the best Christmas we have ever had. The staff treat us like family. We have been going there for over 10 years so I think we are family.

We stayed in chaing mia for four days, this hotel was not my first choice but it was excellent, staff, food, location just 5 mins from central location but all in all a very good hotel would return. we only did B&B but could not fault anything. try it for yourself

Room Tip: We had a standard room on 11th Floor but was really nice, had everything we wnated inc aor conditioning. which I don't like. the view was good aswell.

Stayed here in January 2012. Very comfortable stay , breakfast was up to expectations, close to night market , a very nice massage parlour near the hotel , cheap laundy service to be found in the lane to the hotel.

Did not visit the pool area - too busy enjoying the splendors of Chiang Mai.

Will definately stay at the Hotel again.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are spacious.

I stayed at this hotel for seven nights and was impressed by the standard of service, cleanliness of rooms and the helpfulness of the staff. There are very reasonably priced buffet lunches and dinners for in-house guests, and there was a good variety of Thai, chinese and western food.
The hotel is a few minutes walk from the Night Bazaar, and there are plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and other shops, such as tailors, in the area. The old town is only a few minutes further walk, so the hotel is pretty well positioned. My only rconcern was that the wifi was moderately costly (500 Bht for 24 hr connect time). While this isn't exorbitant, more and more international hotels are providing this service free of charge.
