This hotel is ok. Not much to really say. It is okay to stay for a night, but don't pay more than 1000baht in high season. We paid 900 for one night as we got into chiang mai, but there are definitely better deals in better areas. The room was big but our "king size" bed was two double beds put side to side, which were stiff as a board. The front desk attempted to sell us excursions, but we didn't get lured into it as we knew we could get better prices by ourselves.

Room Tip: If you do stay a night just to settle into the new city, don't get lured into buying excursions...

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Buaraya Hotel. The room was large, very clean, quiet and the hotel location was very convenient. Excellent street food available very close to the hotel. The hotel offered a very nice breakfast as well.

1st day we arrived staff very rude! They messed our room up and when we asked about changing to the room we had paid for they said no and we had to wait till tomorrow and acted like we were in the wrong. They made us feel very uncomfortable. They would not give us the difference in price back, instead offered an upgrade from what we had booked, we was put in the same room just a few floors up! Hotel rooms very run down, bathrooms in both rooms where very dirty. Staff where not helpful at all and extremely rude!

Cannot believe how we were spoken to by staff from the hotel!! they messed up with our room type and gave us standard rather than superior (in which the shower head fell off 3 times and the bath was dirty) and as compensation said we could stay in 'deluxe' for our last night, the next day the exact same happened and nothing was done by the staff to even attempt to apologise! Dont expect any friendliness when you arrive at the reception desk! Never again!!!

Proper breakfast was served having home like tastes. A good fitness center & excellent customer service. Proper and co-operative staff having lots of patience in handling customers. Never say no attitude to customers. Had good activities for children and they enjoyed a lot. Liked their hospitality towards greeting and serving customers

Rooms are not very clean, and very run down. Hotel staff not very friendly, english skills definitely are lacking - In short, do not expect any help, or outstanding service from the front desk staff. We checked out for one night as we were staying overnight on a Jungle Trek. The staff had communicated to us our bags would be locked up during the night. When we got back the next day, our bags were exactly where they told us to leave them the day prior - In the hotel lobby. Breakfast was also not great. Wouldn't recommend staying here. Location is ok. Close to Old City. Far from Night Bazaar.

A bit higher than some of the backpacker hotels I used in other markets, but a nice way to spend a few days in Chiang Mai. Had AC and hot water and a real tub/shower.

Not many of the staff were friendly but not well versed in English and I have no Thai skills which created some challenges. Wi-fi was unreliable and there was not public internet access. It was close to the Sunday Street Walk and tuk tuks were easily available at the hotel. The real challenge I had was obtaining information on how to depart Chiang Mai - no information on bus schedules were available at the hotel or at nearby "travel agents". I ended up booking a flight back to Bangkok was the train was not available due to weather conditions that had damaged the tracks.
The hotel offered a nice breakfast buffet and some good food was easily found with street vendors just down the street at a very popular spot.
The staff were helpful in setting up two days of activities with local tour services and the days were well spent.
