“Great little place”
Reviewed 6 January 2014 via mobile

Stayed here for 4 nights, the staff are so friendly and very helpful. Always have a smile on their face. The 1 bed apartment was very spacious and had a nice sized balcony. There is a 7/11 across the road and a Tops supermarket about 3mins walk down the road. Yes it may be a little out of the thick of the city, but Tuk tuks and red vans are quite easily hailed on the main road which is a cheap way to get around and more authentic in my opinion than catching taxis. I walked into the old city in less than 20 mins and was quite enjoyable and great to experience the streets of Chiang Mai.

The pool area is really nice. Half indoor and outdoor. The breakfast was good, catered for Thai and Western tastes. I would not hesitate in coming back, I really enjoyed my stay here. Thank you to everyone at the hotel :)

I stayed at the residence during the beginning of December 2013, during my solo trip around South East Asia. This was my experience of the residence, which obviously would be different for each person who ventures and experiences things differently, so please do read this bearing this in mind.
Service, Quality, Value:
The residence was really cheap for a good star hotel as it was on promotion at the time. It was well furnished, was very comfortable and spacious.
Location:
The location of the hotel was not very central to the town, and so, taxi’s are required to go and come which are available although do cost an extra 8 dollars per trip. There is no complimentary shuttle services and all tours appear hesitant when you tell them where you staying. This should be borne in mind for travellers on a tight budget as additional costs are then borne to travel to the main part of town as Chiang Mai has no other public transport systems.
Breakfast:
Great, no complaints here. Although please see others’ comments here which appear to be very different to my experience.
Decor:
Fantastic, very modern and comfortable. Clean and spacious. Only the drainage smell from the bathroom was rather wretched, but this was told to reception that then looked into this.
Other:
Pictures online are reflective of the residence. The reception is extremely friendly and helpful and eve let me use their phone to make several calls for my own private tour. They also helped me obtain a cheap taxi for the airport. There is a place for laundry here, and even computers in the lobby area. It is very modern and very practical for users.
Overall:
I would definitely stay here again if I was with family or a partner. It is not the most ideal hotel for the solo traveller, but the hotel has fantastic service, food, and cleans modern space which is perfect.

Hotel is nicely located in a diststance of approx. 1 km from the north side of the city wall (square-shaped).

Quite and nicely furnished. No bugs. Large apartments with a TV, a fridge, a stove. AC works well.

Breakfast OK but rather the same on all days.

Staff nice, professional.

A swiming pool available.

If you pay by credit card, 3-4% will be added to what you have to pay.

I stayed 5 nights n a 1 bedroom suite. wonderful and clean.
The property is quite new.
The separate shower was nice, bed very comfy.
Usually I stay every 6 months in Chiang Mai and I stay in this location which I prefer.
I will be staying again this November for 10 nights.
Breakfast is basic, but actually good as we can overeat with buffets so this is sufficient.
The staff at reception are always smiling and very helpful.
There is a nice pool, but a bit cold as it is indoors and does not get much sun.
Suggest you rent a scooter as it is a little expensive getting Tuk Tuks everywhere all the time to explore. A scooter will set you back between 150-200 baht per day depending on length of hire.
Overall property value 9/10

Room Tip: The 1 bedroom suite is good value, plenty o room and cupboards

Have just spent nearly a month staying here and could not be more impressed ,.the staff were polite and helpfull and kept the building and rooms clean . The apartment we occupied was on the 7 th floor and had great views , we also had family staying in other rooms on other floors and got to see the range of rooms any of which I would stay in again .The pool was a welcome relief from the heat and humidity and although there is not much in there the gym is quite adequate . It may not be close to the touristy spots, but it's only a short walk to the main road where you can catch a red van to them and close by are markets where you can get just about everything you can get in the touristy part without the markup , as well as a large variety of inexpensive food that you could eat in or take back to the apartment , there is also a 7eleven nearby and a five minute walk to Tops Supermarket and a couple of nice restaraunts close by.
We did not take advantage of the restaraunt downstairs but got good reports from some of the people I talked to who had .
Looking forward to staying there next visit

My husband and I had a home away from home at The Grand Wipanan. The air conditioning was excellent and well needed (by me particularly). Everything was incredibly clean and the staff were friendly, kind and respectful. We had all the mod cons in the apartment and a refreshing, salt water pool downstairs. Magnificent!

Room Tip: We were on the 7th floor which gave us great views over Chiang Mai and across to the mountains. We c...
