“Romatic & peaceful boutique hotel!”
Reviewed 2 February 2010

The service, food, acommodations and amenities of the Tamarind are amazing! After we told the Front Desk Agent that we were visiting Thailand for our honeymoon, he assigned us in a beautiful and spacious room and also arranged flowers and candles to be placed in the room. The breakfast was fabulous, excellent variety. The Chef is terrific; we also dined in the restaurant a couple of times. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay at this property.

Great location: right in the center of the old city. Beautiful garden and building, very nice comfortable rooms.
One feels like being in a country village, quiet and peaceful.
But what makes the stay a great experience is the incredible quality of service, sincere, and present everywhere in all sections of the hotel.
Excellent restaurant.

This was our first visit to Thailand but not our last. We were enchanted with the people at Tamarind Village. When we tell friends and family about our visit we speak about all the wonderful people we met as much as the amazing places we visited. Thank you everyone at Tamarind Village for helping to make our trip a memorable experience! Lori and Eric Saltmarsh

On arrival you could be forgiven for wondering what the raves reviews are about for the Tamarind, but it takes about 10 minutes for it to work its magic and envelope you in its calm, elegant atmosphere. Staying there in a suite over Yi Peng was magical and the staff seemed to be having as good a time as the guests. The rooms are elegant, with comfortable beds and bathrooms with lovely jasmine toiletries. Wi-fi is available, but works better if your room is near to reception, although it's fine by the pool and restaurant. The pool is a good size and the restaurant elegant. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. In all a mavellous stay and I was sad to leave and will certainly stay again on my next visit.

The location was great for walking to the sights in the old city and even to the bazaars. The hotel atmosphere was relaxing and the grounds were well kept. The breakfasts were well prepared and provided a good selection of western and Thai dishes. Communication with the staff was relatively easy.

Our room was a pretty small with the bathroom sectioned off by saloon-style swinging doors.

This hotel was beautiful, everything about it was calm and serene, the staff couldn't be more helpful, the rooms were beautiful, lots of attention to detail. The pool was lovely, loungers great. We were B & B and the breakfast was very nice, we didn't eat here in the evening although I'm sure it would have been lovely.
Overall, if you are looking for a small hotel with personal service then this is the place. When you walk in off the street it's like walking into Narnia it's that different to the outside world!! Definately visit again.

This is a very pleasant hotel, being designed like a Lanna village, beautifully laid out, well maintained and with very good service.
The one thing to watch is room sizes....They vary a lot for the same grade and price. We started in a Lanna Deluxe room that was little bigger than the King Size bed! Fortunately there were many other rooms, all much bigger than our one, so we were able to move, but if occupancy is high this could be a problem. Best to clarify at the booking stage.
