Imagine being a guest of a wealthy merchant family at their country house redolent with their clan's and their city's history over the decades and you have a sense of Riverview Lodge. High ceilinged rooms are non-fussy and scrupulously clean. Riverview is presided over by efficient, low-key, courteous and helpful staff at all hours. Book extra days so you don't regret an abbreviated stay.

Room Tip: River view, of course

If you are travelling back in time! An antique furnished Thai style lodge. Very nicely decorated. Everthing can be purchaced. The garden is amazing! Every inch is worthwhile! You can't stop exploring :-) Pool is clean and a good place to relax. Rooms clean and spacious. They didn't serve diner. Only breakfast and easy lunch.

Authentic Thai style to the place with great knick knack decor around the place.

The rooms were basic with small vanity but fine for a couple.

Staff friendly and location not far from town centre.

Best feature defiantly the pool overlooking the river. Great for a beer or two!

We stayed here for 4 nights in March, it is a simple but adequate hotel on the river front as the name suggests. The rooms are basic but comfortable with options of rooms on the front over looking the lovely gardens and river.
The hotel is well located - about 10 minutes by tuk tuk out of the old city but close to many good restaurants and the night bazaar.
The breakfast choice is limited but enough to give you a start for the day and the staff are friendly and happy to help. The hotel arranged a river boat cruise for us which picked us up from the jetty at the hell.
They are building some new apartments next door which is noisy on the front but this doesn't affect the river side of the hotel. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone to stay.

Room Tip: Choose a riverfront room

Rooms are of a good standard, owners are really friendly and helpful. Close to the night bazaar. The gardens are beautiful, over looking the river ping. My children enjoyed exploring the garden and really enjoyed the pool. I enjoyed relaxing in the pavilion. Truly lovely place to stay, and will be first port of call on next visit to chang mai

2nd time staying at this lovely Hotel. Dang and her team can't help you enough, it was a pleasure to stay again. The rooms are spacious, and I recommend a room with a balcony overlooking the pool, which is a tropical paradise. The gardens, right next to the ping river are beautiful, with a lot of interesting plants and ornaments hiding amongst them. A lovely relaxing pool too. The breakfast is lovely - fresh fruit and bacon and eggs ( if you like) every day on the terrace. Highly recommend this place if you are passing by Chiang Mai.

Room Tip: overlooking the pool

It has been several years since I last stayed at the River View and I was once again delighted with the staff and value. The included breakfast is very good and the rooms are spotless. Despite being an older building, it retains it's charm and the garden and pool overlooking the river are unique. For someone looking for centrally located lodging while still removed from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai, this is the place. An added attraction is the excellent Puncini restaurant located a block away.
