Not for me!

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Jan 2012
Stayed here for one night in November. It was cheap but there was a smell of damp in the corridors, damp on the ceiling, the rooms smelt and the shower caused a mini flood in the bathroom. The best thing about it was the breakfast!

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and it was excellent, particularly the huge, fresh buffet breakfast, including western and Thai dishes, fresh fruit and juices (coffee wasn't always great, some mornings it was far too strong). It has a nice pool as well. Lunch and dinner menu is good, too, although the nightly kareoke in the restaurant put us off eating dinner there.

Do not be deceived by the lobby/reception area. Hotel room was smelly and damp, not too clean either. The pool was also dirty and the breakfast was poor. I've stayed in overcrowded hostels better than this!

This was easily the worst hotel on our whole 3 weeks in Thailand! When we booked it we thought what a lovely place due to the entrance & foyer. The bed was very lumpy with springs sticking up. There was a serious mould issue in the shower. The bathroom in the morning smelt like sewerage. The room smelt really musty also. The air conditioner was really noisy. There was a mosquito in the room keeping one of us awake. There was a big black mouldy hole in the ceiling. We were on an all day tour the next day & so couldn't complain until late that night. The staff's attitude was that as we were leaving the next day they wouldn't do anything about it! Our room was originally 1300 bht but we paid 1000 bht per night as it was through our previous accomodation which was fully booked.

The only good things were the buffet breakfast and the room safe.

The rather glamorous facade hides a shabby interior with dirty, musty rooms in desperate need of refurbishment. The rooms are over-priced, I paid (per night) 1,500 B plus 400 B supplemental change. I have stayed in several hotels which were far cleaner, positively palatial compared to this one for much less money. In addition the smoking and non-smoking rooms are swapped, so even though there is a non-smoking sign on the door, the room may have been used by smokers. If you are a non-smoker like myself, the smell of stale cigarettes hits you instantly. The bathroom was also full of mold and dirty. I would never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend friends, relatives or associates stay here either. This hotel needs a serious makeover, shabby, faded, stained decor and poor customer service would mean I rate this hotel as POOR.

This once grand hotel is a bit run down now. The lobby is palatial and the reception professional but once you get past that, the age shows. The rooms are large but the furnishins old, cigarette burns in the carpet, mould in the tile grout.

It has good tick box features - gym and pool but both are small. A/C worked.

Main problem for me was internet. None in the rooms and wireless in the lobby was slow.
