The Rachamankha was the venue for my wedding reception, and I can't state enough how pleased my partner and I were at the extent the hotel manager and his staff went too so as to ensure our special night was a resounding succeess! From the great food, to the band, to the incredible courtyard setting - it was superb! Not one of my 50 guests were disappointed!

This is a must stay in Chiang Mai. The hotel looks like an old elegant home although it is recently built. The courtyards are beautiful. We got upgraded to the suite and that was special. If you can get the suite don't hesitate. It must be 100 sq.m. with two large bedrooms and beautiful connecting room and two ample bathrooms. The furnishings are beautiful and comfortable. The hotel is right in the old city so one can walk a short distance and experience much of the ambience and culture there. The only warning I offer is that if you are a light sleeper or don't want to wake up at 5 AM ask for a room far from the neighbors who have roosters. The restaurant is excellent with very good breakfasts. The library with internet access is a pleasure to use. The staff were all helpful and friendly as is my experience in all of Thailand.

Standard of accommodation was outstanding. The design, the layout and feel made it a great destination to relax and enjoy the surroundings like no other. It was clearly designed by people with comfort and relaxation in mind. The location was also convenient. From the hotel, you can get pretty much get anywhere to enjoy this great city by foot or tut tut in minutes. The surroundings, food & value at the hotel restaurant also scored top marks, though best of all was the friendliness of the hotel staff and management. The local General Manager (Paul) made our stay that much more enjoyable and productive. We didn’t have sufficient time to plan our week though his excellent local knowledge made our time in Chiang Mai a really memorable one. Paul management style & the culture he has built with his team shines through all parts of the hotel.. We will be back!

This has to be one of the most delightful hotels we have ever enjoyed. It has that very rare combination of being exquisite, having brilliant service, a wonderful seductive restaurant with fabulous food and a comfort level that makes it a joy to stay at. This is the real northern Thailand - full of beauty and hospitality where relaxing is easy. The rooms are bright, roomy & exquisitely decorated like the rest of the hotel. Understated and beautiful. We'll be back for more.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Rachamankha. Right from the moment we arrived it was so relaxing. We laid by the pool, used the library, and loved hanging out there. Rachamankha is a Relais & Chateaux hotel, and having stayed in a few of these you always get a certain style of service which I find a tad stuffy. Having said that, it was also impeccable. Breakfast is delicious. We didn't eat in the restaurant though. My favourite Thai restaurant of all time is just down the road - "Huang Phen". It serves all the delicious, healthy authentic Thai food you could want at both lunch and dinner, for hardly any money at all.

Rachamankha is well situated although you need a tuktuk to get to the "old town". Temples are a walk away though, no problem.

The only thing I found a negative here at the Rachamankha is that they close the bar at the same time as the restaurant - 10pm sharp. This is a total oversight and a real shame. It would be great to be able to have a relaxed drink when you get back from an evening out, and this should be better catered to. Overall though - a truly great find and somewhere I would go back to again and again.

Get the two room suite above the library if you can. The Manager, Paul Walker, was superb.

We went to the Rachamankha for a wedding - it is an amazing property! Very beautiful, relaxing and every amenity well thought out. The service is excellent, very helpful, but not in your face, which we like! Spent some days relaxing by the pool, enjoying the quiet and beauty. Thank you so much for making our stay so lovely - much appreciated! We will definitely recommend this hotel to others!
