“Strategic location, good value for money”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

My boyfriend and I stayed there fr four nights and since we both love traditional wooden architechture, we appreciated the place. It is Lanna style, which is very common in Northern Thailand. We got a room that was okay even if it was a bit small and with a creaky bed. But it was very clean and tidy. The toilet and shower were also both clean and functional. There's also a pool that you can use if you just wanna hang out for a while.

Location wise, you can have access to a lot of famous places just by walking from this guesthouse (which saves a lot of transportation ripoffs from cabbies). It's near boxing stadiums, the Ta Phae Gate, the Art in Paradise 3D Museum/Gallery, The Night Market amd so on.

Food is mostly okay but a bit pricey for Thai standards. You can also book a tour with them which I suggest you don't do since it's a bit too expensive for what it is. You can find better ones in other travel agencies.

But overall, it was a very pleasant stay and I'd recommend the place to my friends who want to visit the north.

The hotel was nice for backpackers, reasonable price, assessable area to bars/clubs and restaurants. The rooms we're nice and clean, but only one plug socket to a room, overall good rooms, however the staff in the restaurant would over charge you for food and the service was slow and staff, very rude.

We stayed here for 5 nights, the cost of the guesthouse is quite reasonable working out to about £14 a night for a double room; however if booking online it can be cheaper. On arrival it had what we wanted, a swimming pool, double bed, a decent bathroom and air conditioning. We found out the first night of our stay the air con barely worked and as our time went on we realised the staff were extremely rude! They would talk between themselves on the front desk while we would have to wait to be spoken to which made us feel very uncomfortable.

When staff knock on the door instead of waiting or leaving and returning later they decided to walk in. Due to the air con barely working I was laying on the bed semi naked trying my best to cool down due to the room being unbearably hot! A member of staff knocked on the door and instead of waiting or calling in (they could see we were in the room due to the light being on) they walked in to my surprise and I had to hide using the tiny bit of sheet I could grab! Very embarrassing!! They do a good job of cleaning the room but don't touch the bathroom. For our whole stay there were several squished Mosquitos on the wall of the bathroom. I was eaten alive most nights too.

The pool is clean but we wary of the toilet next to the pool as there was no toilet paper or soap and no light! The wifi is good though and there a good TV channels in English!

In conclusion the only reason we stayed was down to there being a pool, wouldn't stay here again.

Most awful place on our trip so far! Yesterday short changed me and even though I was still stood at the desk with my incorrect change they called me a liar. Then whilst at the pool we returned to our room to find the cleaners had left the door wide open with all our belongings visible to everyone walking by. It also appeared some of our toiletries had been deliberately broken?! Then to top it off when we were checking out they added an extra amount onto our bill charging us for drink we had already paid for and still had the receipts for! Dispite this they threatened to call the police unless we paid again!! Bunch of dishonest money grabbers - stay here at your own risk! It's looks nice enough but looks are deceiving!

It's old but well kept and clean. The rooms are small, bathroom large, watch your step, the Thai's build bathrooms at three levels. Depending on the season the price is between $23 - $32. The food is good and reasonably priced. They have a wonderful pool. The best part is the location, only a short walk to the old city.

Room Tip: Try to stay up front in the old section

A very nice place to stay; quiet, located on the moat, many attractions within walking distance of, well, everything. Nice swimming pool, can even sunbathe topless! In house coffee shop and a restaurant. Not the best food but adequate breakfast and light fair. Friendly, English speaking staff.

This was a bad start on a great holiday.
Small rooms, bad AC,renovation felt like it was 20 years overdue, the bathroom was just awful.
No security box in the room.
You can find a lot better hotels for the same price.
