I loved The Chedi Chiang Mai. The hotel's design is really great - lots of open spaces, water, modern design combined with the old British consulate.
We stayed in a Club Suite which was really worth the money. We especially liked the cocktail hour and enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine, which is really expensive everywhere in Thailand. Also the free washing came in handy after 2,5 weeks trip before.
The food in the restaurant was very good, especially the Indian dishes and the watermelon salad - loved it! Breakfast selection was not huge but all very good. But the cocktails at the bar were really good, although the service was a bit slow at the bar, which was strange since it wasn't very busy and they seemed to be bored.
The location at the river is very nice. We arrived 3 days after the city was flooded but the hotel was still accessible. However the night market was closed so that did not disturb us (which some other reviewers experienced).
The spa was very good too. I had a massage and a pedicure and happy with both.More
