“Nice temple just beside the night bazaar”
Reviewed 20 May 2014 via mobile

Stumble across this temple as we were walking along the night bazaar street. Beautiful from the outside with the sun setting and it looks amazing with the white structure. Have not tried the massage mentioned though and if I have the opportunity in the next few days, may try out the massage and 170 baht is definitely cheap.

“Massage here is great. ”
Reviewed 27 March 2014 via mobile

This is a beautiful temple of course. Full of good energy and nice people- but in the back is a Thai massage area. It is 140 Baht and worth every penny. Ah Lyn Yah is amazing and very sweet. I asked for her every time. It's a very intense massage- you will be really relaxed.

“Just happened to stumble across”
Reviewed 13 February 2014

On our first day in Chiang Mai, on our way to the Old City from the east side of the river, we passed Wat Mahawan and went in to have a look.
What makes it a bit different from many other temples is the mixture or styles. There are many different types of guardians.
I found out afterwards the reason for some of the different styles was that parts of it date to when the Burmese controlled the north of Thailand.

Being only a short walk from Tha Phae gate, it is well worth visiting while in Chiang Mai.
Entrance was free.

“Peaceful”
Reviewed 1 February 2014

This is a peaceful temple just off a busy street. Inside the walls, you can get a good idea of traditional Thai Buddhist architectural style.

I went here after getting a two-hour massage inside the grounds at a massage school. Excellent place for traditional Thai massage.

“Unexpected gem near the night market”
Reviewed 9 March 2013

This temple is very interesting as the majority of the buildings, stupas and monuments ar white. The main stupa is beautiful with the white and gold colors shimmering in the light. There is also a massage place available on sight until 7pm.
