“Surprising, and very comfortable”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

I stayed here because i was at a seminar. I was pleasantly surprised by the room, it was a suite, really comfortable, and coffee and tea making facilities. the breakfasts were pretty good. The swimming pool was nice and clean, though a bit cold, not sure whether this was due to the time of year or because it was a bit in the shade. The biggest drawback is that it is a long way to get to anywhere, and so you need transport, or some way of getting out and in.
i really enjoyed my stay there.

Room Tip: i was on the 3rd floor, there is no lift so if you are not very able bodied, ask for a lower floor

Our group of 8 stayed for one night at cottages. A spacious resort like place with very nice gardening and laichi trees. If you are looking after a modern newer hotel, this place is not for you. The interior of room is spacious, functional, although air-conditioner should be quieter.

The location is not at the city centre/night bazaar and we don't mind. Only ~7 mins drive required. There is free shuttle bus to city centre but rare (for afternoon, 2pm then 6pm).

Staff nice. Breakfast is either American or Asian for order while some bread, coffee tea, salad and fruits are on the buffet bar. Taste ok.

Overall, we enjoy our stay and it's not a bad choice. Staying one night only is too short for us.

I am surprised by the high ratings for this hotel which in part swayed us to choose it. It fell well below expectations. The photos on the site are very misleading. In fact our room was quite old and unattractive. We stayed in the "suite" - the cottages appear newer, although in the photos you wouldn't notice a discernible difference. It is important to understand the impact the location will have in your stay. From the airport we learned that anything "outside" the city center carries a premium for transport. In fact this is a lowlight of visiting Chiang mai. The public transport consists of tuk tuks and sontaews - all charging tourists inflated prices. It's reminiscent if Bangkok 15 years ago. Even though the actual distance to the hotel is not significant the additional expense makes it worth choosing a more expensive hotel in the city. It's not only a cost issue, but one of convenience also. The hotel has "shuttles" but so infrequent as to not be useful. We couldn't ride one day because it was full - the next one was hours later. And then we had to try to find a tuk tuk which are not plentiful in vicinity of the hotel. The hotel offered to call a sontaew, but at the same grossly inflated rates we were charged at the airport. I think the hotels should be helping tourists to pay the "right" price for transport - not facilitating drivers charging the wrong price. We had to stay out for the day once we left so didn't eat dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was basic at best. We were charged1800 baht for an extra bed for 3 nights. I know that charging a lot for extra bed seems to be the norm these days, but I don't think the prices are reasonable - the bed would not likely have cost more than 1800 baht. Overall the hotel was a very disappointing part of an otherwise enjoyable trip to visit friends in Chiang Mai. I would not recommend the hotel and we will definitely choose somewhere else next time we go.

Not worth this price at all,the hotel is old and worn out..
Seems everything have been used for more than 30 years.
But too bad we was a bit late to book before our visit, not much hotel was available at the time and we choose this hotel.
terrible exprience,tv is small old and signal is weak.Bath room hot water supply was very unstable.
Oh,and you would barely find any spare wall socket in the room,I mean it is 2014 right? The air condition is very noisy.
Thank god we only stay for 2 nights, think twice before you book this hotel.

Eurasia is a lovely, but out-of-the-way hotel. With 3 adults we asked for 3 single beds. We were given a 2 room suite with large twin beds in one room and another twin in the sitting room, which was great. The bathroom was very clean, though a bit dated. TV had several channels, but we were too tired at night to watch. The mini refrigerator held hotel provided water. An excellent buffet breakfast was well stocked with good coffee, tea, fruit and fruit juices, cereals, raw veggies, warm rice dishes, plus rolls jams and more. The desk staff spoke fairly good English and called transportation for us. We usually paid 200 baht one way to the city. The hotel has a restaurant, but there are no others within walking range. Good wifi and a/c, though in January the latter wasn't critical.

We enjoyed our 3 day stay in Chiang Mai in this quiet hotel in a mature garden. It is not centrally located and there are no nice restaurants nearby but you can take the hotel shuttle into town and still enjoy the nightmarket. The rooms are very big and with a good breakfast and a nice pool this is a very nice place to stay.

Let's start with the good stuff. Big rooms in hotel, I mean really big, probably double the size of other equivalent hotels in Thailand I've stayed at. 2x aircon in the rooms as well & good wifi all around the property. I missed the shuttle one morning by a few hours & asked for them to call me a taxi, instead they took me for free in the hotel van to my 3 different stops, the last of which is 20mins away in the hills - much appreciated!
Now for the areas they let themselves down: no airport pickup as promised, no fridge in the room, they stopped giving me daily drinking water halfway through the week & didn't restart, the buffet breakfast is average but not dissimilar from many of had in Thailand, the staff don't speak much English but I found them genuinely trying to be helpful, & lastly the location is horrible but that's not something they can help. It's a fair distance away from everything & there are no real shops / resteraunts within walking distance.
