I liked it. The building has character and rooms are good size, comfortable and well equipped though complimentary WiFi was weak in mine. There are several nice touches: tea/coffee making facilities, fruit basket and free mini-bar all replenished daily. Buffet breakfast was smaller than some but so is the hotel and was a decent spread. Location was OK and near many areas including the night market. Staff were friendly and efficient although they need to make sure they take on staff with adequate English - particularly pronunciation and listening as not all had this. Rate included a number of complimentary extras including dinner and massage, which I didn't use and which for some guests the option of a cheaper rate may be more attractive.

We booked this Hotel for Four Nights. The Entrance of this Hotel is open air space with rooms on both the side and the Breakfast tables in the middle in open. The big coconut trees covering a lot of sky. Very nice view. The deal we got in the Spa was amazing. Full body Spa for two in price of one. Located in walking distance to the Night Bazaar. Very peaceful stay, very nice and courteous people, good service. Free Wi-Fi. They use to fill the Refrigerator with fruits cookies and soft drinks everyday. Will definitely stay there on our next trip to Chiang Mai.

Stayed here for 6 nights last year as part of our month long trip too the Far East.

Location is excellent close to the night market and restaurants.

Staff very nice and friendly; nothing was too much trouble for them.

Breakfast was good and we dined here twice in the evening and we were never deluded good quality.

We tried the spa on our last day and we had a very good treatment with excellent value.

Overall great stay thanks to th efficient staff and great hotel location.

The room was spacious and kept in spotless condition as was the rest of the hotel.

I chose this hotel based on the percentage of positive reviews (and because it fell within my budget) and I was not disappointed. Indeed, I was amazed at how well appointed and luxurious the place was for the price. My room was large, well-furnished (the bed was HUGE!) and kept immaculately clean by the concientious chamber staff. In fact I found all of the staff to be couteous, helpful and discrete. The hotel enjoys a superb location near the Night Bazaar and Tae Pae Gate areas making it a great jumping-off point for most of Chiang Mai's places of interest. There were a couple of minor niggles - there has been alot of comment about the hot water situation. I found I could always take a hot shower whenever I needed but was unable to procure hot water for the wash basin. As I wet shave this resulted in my having to boil the kettle provided for hot drinks to produce shaving water. To be honest it didn't bother me that much but might upset others more. The small adjacent swimming pool was perfectly adequate - a really pleasant space - but, considering the number of guests Raming Lodge can accomodate, the provision of only eight pool-side loungers seemed somewhat inadequate. But, as I say, these were only minor niggles and were far outweighed by the overwhelmingly positive experience I had there. Given the amazing value for money I would not only happily return but would whole-heartedly recommend Raming Lodge to my fellow trip advisor users.

Room Tip: If you want a balcony you need to book a suite. At these prices it would be well worth it.

The hotel was in a good location. Very close to everything a tourist would want to do. The staff was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. They showered us with coupons for free massages and free dinners. We never took them up on the offer. There are so many great restaurants in Chiang Mai, who would want to eat at the hotel? The rooms were just ok. They tended to be very hot until the AC turned on and cooled them off. The hot water sometimes took a while to heat up. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The doors are very thin and you could hear people coming and going at all hours of the night and morning. This made it very difficult to sleep sometimes. The staff always left fresh fruit and juice. This was all complimentary. Overall it was a mediocre hotel, with a friendly staff, in a good location. I would look into some of the smaller guesthouses before I stayed here again.

Hotel is typical asian tourist hotel being not too large and with friendly helpful staff. Value for money is pretty good and location is excellent. Just a short stroll to night market and similar to the old city. Close to the hotel are many good cafes and restraunts. I'd stay here again. Breakfast is quite reasonable and laundry service is quite reasonably priced.

We stayed in this hotel 12 years ago and really enjoyed our stay and decided to go back and stayed there last week. They did not fail to do their best for us. It is the small details that count - complimentary cold drink and a piece of cake left in the fridge daily plus fresh fruit. Vouchers for an excellent spa and also for good quality meals in the restaurant.Breakfast has a wide choice to suit all travelers. Also complimentary airport transfer.

The swimming pool is fairly small but nice and clean.

Turn left out of the hotel and you are 10 minutes from the daily night market and turn right you are 5 minutes from the Sunday Night Market and the old city.
