“Won't Stay Anywhere Else”
Reviewed 7 April 2012

For a first time visit to Chiang Mai, I randomly chose the Raming Lodge, and am so glad that I did! From the moment we arrived, the staff were super helpful and very friendly.
The room was big and clean with a large bathroom. Wi-fi signals were strong.
We stayed in a deluxe room, and were given a voucher for the spa for either a free 1-hour massage or 900Baht off a package. The massage was fantastic! The pool was lovely - April is HOT in Thailand!
What a great location! It's close to the old city as well as the Night Bazaar and some other fun nighttime attractions like boxing and bars.
Loved it! Will definitely stay there next time!

I stayed at the Raming lodge in March 2012. I travel a lot and found this hotel good value for money. The hotel is a bit older but in good condition and very clean. I would give the staff a 10/10 they were great. The location is great, close to the night market and bar area. The thai boxing ring and a few bars are just up the road turn left when you come out of the hotel. The pool was clean and pool staff excellent however the pool was located across the road. The food I can not comment on I only had brecky a few mornings but it was good.
My next trip to Chiangmai I will book this hotel again due to its value for money, location and great staff.

Room Tip: some of the rooms include air port pick up.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here in January 2012. The rooms were large & clean, with desk, sitting area, and walk-in shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions. Central location near night market.

Pros:
Free WIFI.
Free breakfast.
Free one nights evening meal which consisted of BBQ skewer, baked potato or corn on the cob and salad.
Discount from the spa packages.
Free airport transfer.
Friendly polite staff.
Brilliant room, big and spacious with a walk in shower.

Cons: We had asked for an early check in. Upon arrival the hotel had forgotten this so our room was not ready! Normally this would not be an issue for us and we wouldn't ever ask for an early check-in unless really necessary. But the hotel had confirmed our early check-in in correspondence two months earlier but when we arrived covered in ash from the crop burning on route and the 19 hour train journey, all we wanted to do was have a shower but, due to this we couldn't.

That said, still a great hotel with many many perks that you don't get in other hotels.

First time I have stayed at this hotel, I found the entire six day experience to have been truly memorable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the Guest relations Manager Ning an absolute treasure with a great smile and personality. The room was great and having breakfast in the courtyard at the front of the hotel watching the passing traffic was also great. This is a hotel to stay at if you want good old fashion Thai hospitality and decour, sure as in all hotels you can find small faults but come on you are on holiday and in Thailand the land of smiles and wonderful people. I would recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to visit Thailand and enjoy Thai hospitality. Thank you Ning and thank you all the staff for a great stay. I will definitely return again for another stay.

Room Tip: Book the deluxe rooms they are up higher and a tad quieter

The hotel staff was wonderful!! Ning was the friendliest person that we met in Thailand. Location is great. Tanyarat at the Tour desk arranged 5 different tours for us--very professional. The singer in the front area of the hotel was so entertaining-we enjoyed listening to him while we had massages across the street. Breakfast was GOOD every morning--lots of variety. Rooms were spacious and clean, beds comfortable--good value.

Stayed for 3 nights early February. The location of this hotel is perfect as it is just down the street from the night market and the Old City walls. We stayed in the upgraded room which include free juice, soda, and a snack each night. The room was very spacious and clean. The people at reception were extremely helpful! Jenny called a few places I wanted to shop to verify their hours, and wrote everything down in Thai for us. Included in our rate was a free Thai massage for my husband and I, which were certainly an experience! The breakfast buffett was huge and included Thai and western options.
