The Raming lodge is located just on the edge of the old town of Chiang Mai and in and ideal place for seeing all parts of the city. The rooms are clean and spacious but breakfast is a little on the basic side.

This hotel has a different layout than most it is built in a U shape with the center open. The rooms are large with bathroom being large also. Things seem a bit antique and one of the windows in the shower had a gap from top to bottom. The room I was in had a metal roof outside the window with workers making noise but only in mid day so not really disturbing. Food at the buffet and room service were both excellent.

The rooms at Raming Lodge were big and spacious, the bed was huge and relatively comfortable. Air con worked just fine. I enjoyed the enormous shower and space in the bathroom. Just one small window so there was not a lot of natural light. The feel was a little dated but it was just fine.

It was slightly noisy as you could hear traffic passing on the main street (depending on where you are situated) and the restaurant is in the courtyard with all the rooms surrounding it, so if you are a light sleeper you will hear breakfast chatter in the morning. Nothing excessive though, it was more than manageable. Good location as it was walking distance to the night market (buy a rotee from the stall right in front of the hotel at night!) and a 5 min walk to old town.

This was a pretty good hotel, nothing special but did the job.

This hotel is in a good location for the night market, the rooms are very dark but clean and comfortable. There is cable TV/free wifi and breakfast is supplied (standard hotel breakfast). BUT ....I would not recommend this hotel if you want to sleep, people come and go at all hours and as most of the rooms face the courtyard they are subject to constant noise. The noise is actually worse inside the rooms as you can hear a lot of what your neighbour is up to, including using the bathroom (our bathroom lit up when the neighbour turned their bathroom light on!). The hotel is on a street full of bars and street noise is also a problem. I think you could do better for your money than stay here.

Room Tip: The only room I could see that might be quiet was tucked away in a dark corner and ended with 04 on each floor

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Room was big and spacious. Free food and drinks in mini bar as a welcome. Only stayed one night, would have stayed longer but hotel was booked up.
Lovely breakfast, great variety.
It is located in the red light district but it wasn't obscene or seedy. We felt very safe and comfortable.
