“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2010

We loved Raming Lodge, in easy walking distance to many of the attractions of Chiang Mai and the best staff! Staff were helpful, bright and efficient. Cleanliness was great and the room was good.

We only stayed for 6 nights but we just loved the hotel. We have stayed at lots of hotels in Asia and this would have to the best value for money. No complaints - 1500 bhat a night included fresh fruit, fruit juice, 4 bottles of water and soft drink every day. The rooms were very clean and the staff was excellent - from housekeeping through to the front desk. Everyone always had a smile and nothing was a problem. The restaurant was great - didn't have a lot of meals at night - but usually called in for a drink on the way home to watch the end of whatever World Cup game was on!
Can't wait to get back and hopefully stay longer! Didn't get to check out the pool - it is a bit out of the way - but it was sooo hot during the day, a cool shower and rest was called for. Loved it!

A very nice hotel & well located for all the usual attractions... Sunday night market, Saturday night Market, night market etc.
All the staff were very polite & pleasant.
There was plenty of choice at breakfast. A small critisism.... the bacon was never more than luke warm.
Part of the package we booked included vouchers to their Spa. Unfortunately the vouchers can only be used against their Relaxing Package & their Executive Package.
The Relaxing Package starts at 1000 baht & the Executive starts at 1800 baht. Compared to what you pay outside the hotel, it makes their Spa expensive.

The other thing to bear in mind when ordering food & drink is that there is a compulsory 10% service charge and a 7% tax on top of the quoted price.

I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. I went to Chiang Mai during Songkran and this was a great place to stay. Close enough to the action and yet still nice and quiet at night.

The staff were always extremely kind and helpful. The room was large (biggest bed I have ever seen!!!), came with fruit, water, and juice daily and was very clean. Everything worked well, including the air conditioning.

The restaurant was quite reasonably priced and offered pretty good food. The breakfast offered a good variety of local and western food.

The hotel is walking distance to pretty much everywhere including the night market and the downtown/bar areas.

The swimming pool, although strangely located across the back alley, was very clean and private. The staff there were also quite nice and there was drinks (both alcoholic and non) available. It was a great place to get away from the streets and relax in the sun.

I did try the "spa" because they give you coupons. Personally, I was disappointed. I just wanted a good, deep back massage and it was pretty lame. However, my friend (who is female) said she quite enjoyed her treatment so.....you be the judge.

This hotel is not a large hotel I have previously stayed at a large hotel down the road. The staff are very helpfull and are always smiling. The breakfast was great the resturant was cheap and nice. We had BBQ kebabs yummy. If you needed help for a tour the tour person whose name is Toto is very help full .Our flight had changed and he rang the airline for me. We organised tours through him. I have no complaints regarding this hotel. The girls at the spa were wonderful very relaxing and we had a laugh. The hotel is situated not far from the night bizzar you can walk or get a tuk tuk. We walked there and tuk tuk back ( too much shopping ). I would certainly return to this hotel.

We stayed here as a family of 5. We booked through Asiarooms.com and had to book 2 rooms to accomodate our family. It was so resonablly priced (especially compared with Phuket and other places we stayed). We emailed hotel before our arrival and they were able to accomodate interconnecting rooms and an extra bed. The location was fantastic, between the old city and new, walking distance to both the Sunday Walking Street market and the night bizarre markets (Sunday walking street market a must! 5 stars). Hotel is located on the same street as a lot of bars but never did we feel uncomfortable even walking with the children. They were very friendly and very excited by the children. Our rooms were always clean, reception staff very friendly and tour desk very helpful. The breakfast was nice, nothing 5 star but more than suitable to get us started for the day. It was our second time in Chiang Mai, last time we stayed at Taramind Vilage which was more couple related. Our one and only complaint would be the location of the swimming pool, accoss the road out theback street and they need to improve the water quality as our kids were very sensitive to the chlorine. In saying that, it was a very welcome relief after a long day of sightseeing. We would definately stay here again.

We only stayed 4 nights at the Raming Lodge but it was the best I have experienced in Thailand. The staff were wonderful always smiling & greeting you no matter how many times you came in & out . The spa was relaxing & the girls were very friendly. The rooms were clean tradational thai style the beds were really comfy didnt mind not having a view.
We ate at the restaurent & it was a wonderful suprise try the BBQ kebabs they melt in your mouth!!!! Across the road are the best Thai massage you will ever have for 120 baht!! & the best jewellers up the left side great prices better than the markets.
My fav person at Raming was Toto the travel agent he was such a sweetheart he will go out of his way to help you with any travel arrangments with a smile & a giggle.
This was my 2nd time in Chiang Mai & it wont be my last I will be back to stay at Raming Lodge again FANTASTIC!!!!!
