I must confess that I did not really expect from the stay in this hotel. Surprisingly, I had a wonderful experience! My first impression was the greenery of the hotel, the garden is fantastic and the buildings are hidden behind trees. I felt like walking into a private old house of some local noble people. The pool is sitting next to the river and it made me feel warm and comfortable. There are some white fragrant flowers fall into the pool sometime and it is so ROMANCE! I spent most of my afternoon laying down there with my books (even I should go out for a city tour lol).

When I was there, they have just renovated all the rooms so they all look new but still boutique. Food is great. All staffs are dressing in beautiful traditional costumes with smiles on their faces. They are really helpful while still have space to keep your privacy. I will definitely visit there again.

Nothing more to say. Huge letdown. The staff were not happy with having to serve us , I guess we are guilty in contributing towards the survival of this dull and under capacity hotel. The pool was full of debris and therefore we could not enjoy the luxury of the pool.

Nice and quite hotel with beautiful gardens. Clean rooms with good airconditioning. The breakfast is good (both hot and cold) and the food in the restaurant is good too. Staff could be more helpful. They make a lazy impression.
Taking into account the price we paid (11 EUR per night per person) we were satisfied with our stay.

We stayed here with friends who we hadn't seen for a while so we had a great stay but the hotel could really do with improving its service; the staff were a little grumpy and everything seemed to be too much trouble. It was quite far out but nice and quiet. It wasn't bad value and it was safe. Food could be improved. Rooms were really nice and clean. So a mixed review really....

Room Tip: Pool facing pool and river.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the first part of our honeymoon trek. If you are after a typical european square box hotel this is not for you, it is traditional thai with lots of dark wood.
As others have said Lanna Mantra is a little out of town but they put on a free shuttle at 10am and 6pm to get guests into down town. To get back you can barter with the tuk tuk drivers and you should be able to get back for 150-180bht.
Breakfast was ok. There was plenty to choose from (cereal, full English, and fresh fruit) but the cooked food was never as hot as we would have liked and felt like it had been there a while.
The rooms were nice and clean and were a decent size and all have a good size balcony.
The pool area was picturesque. It has an infinity pool and a great view of the ping river, we never tried the pool side bar so can't comment on that.
Overall a nice little hotel that is clean and we felt was good value for money.

Although it's a little distance out of town, this hotel is worth the trouble to take taxis back and forth - in fact, it's so relaxing and beautiful you might decide not to go into town at all (except for the night bazaar or Sunday walking market). The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds comfortable, each one has a balcony, and the pool by the river is great. Breakfast is ample with lots of fresh fruit and bacon. I wish I could find a month to go back and just chill here.

Room Tip: You can choose the river view or the front view of fish pond. Beware: fire station is right across t...
